In a recent visit with a very ill, elderly cat, the vet/staff did not fully disclose all the costs involved in keeping the cat overnight. In addition, the vet insisted on doing a second expensive test. The cat had to be euthanized in the end. Much of the expense could have been spared if the vet had been frank about how sick the cat was after the first test. She took advantage of my daughter's caring heart and encouraged her to run up a bill she cannot afford to pay. My daughter had to pay several hundred dollars before leaving the cat and now has an additional bill several times that--and her cat is gone. If not illegal, the way they practice veterinary medicine is unethical.
