It's a little bit of an overwhelming experience to shop at the Dekalb International Farmers Market, but it's well worth it. Almost everything I've bought there has been really good, and now it's a regular stop on my shopping rounds. My favorite things: herbs & spices in bulk plastic tubs for very, very low prices, the produce section is very educational (in March they had some ""gi-normus"" strawberries that were incredible), and the wide selection of cheeses. My favorite is simply the cubed extra sharp cheddar, which I eat as a snack or instead of dinner. The packaged baked goods are pretty good, but the bakery bar is much better. The only downside: weekends during the day, the place is packed and it's hard to get down the aisles because they're also stocking shelves. Go in the evening instead!
Pros: exotic produce, fresh foods, discounted day old baked goods that taste just as fresh
Cons: does not accept credit cards, stocking shelves during the busiest hours, employees not very friendly
