On our last night in SF, my husband & I decided to take a friend's recommendation and dine at Scoma's, which was within walking distance of our hotel. We were hoping for better. The crab cake sandwich and lobster ravioli were mediocre at best and the decor is downright pedestrian. (Picture wood paneling 1970's style basement.) Our server was very nice, though a bit chatty - I guess the tourists like that kind of behavior. We should've sought out something in my husband's old 'hood where the food would've been better and the atmosphere more interesting. Next time. . .
Pros: Below-average food, classless decor
Cons: Attentive service
