We had Pad Thai here on several occasions. Half the time, the pad thai was very good. The other half the time, it was inedible. The last time we visited Royal Thai (this past week), we ordered the bean noodle salad, steamed dumplings, and pad thai. The salad looked half its normal size (I had had it before) and had more iceburg lettuce than anything else. The steamed dumplings were obviously microwaved and therefore difficult to chew. But the coup de grace was the pad thai. It was a big glop of microwaved mess. It also tasted overcooked and burnt. I asked the server when it was prepared and he had the audacity to say that it was freshly prepared. Needless to say, we did not eat that pad thai or order another one. The server--who had not been pleasant to begin with--never apologized and made us feel like we were committing a crime by refusing to eat that atrocity. I have worked at a restaurant before and make a point to never send something back unless the situation absolutely calls for it, and this situation begged for it. If this had been the first time we experienced bad food and service here, we might reconsider the place, but since it's not, we won't go back to Royal Thai again.
Pros: decent food if you go on a "good" day
Cons: most days seem to be bad
