i recently moved to new york, where the coffee culture is surprisingly lame. sigh. i miss peet's coffee so much. god it's good.
i'm also baffled by the people who say peet's coffee is just burnt and not complex. have they tried all the different types? i think the african one's are the best (kenya, ethiopia, and especially arabian mocha sanani). it's also strange that people compain that peet's coffee is bitter. i mean, coffee is bitter. if you want something that's not bitter drink something else.
in my thirty years in the bay area i drank coffee all over. i remember when peets was just one store on vine street in berkeley. and i'm even a little sad that it's become a big chain. still nothing comes close to peet's in terms of depth and complexity of flavor.
Pros: best coffee anywhere
