I AM SO ANGRY! THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE DO NOT MOVE HERE! I MOVED HER NOVEMBER OF 2012. EXCITED BECAUSE IT LOOKED NICE SAD TO SAY ITS BEEN EVERYTHING BUT THAT! PEOPLE HAVE STOLEN FROM ME, THEY ARE RUDE. AND THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH BED BUGS, I HAVE CALLED TO COMPLAIN OVER 15 TIMES AND THEY KEEP SAYING THEY WILL SEND AN EXTERMINATOR OUT TO FIX IT STILL HAVENT SEEN ANYTHING, I AM PREGNANT SO ITS MORE THAN DANGEROUS FOR ME, I HAD TO THROW OUT MY BRAND NEW QUEEN SIZE BED. THEY ALSO WILL NOT FIX ANYTHING IF ITS BROKEN LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TOO, NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL BE CONTACTING A LAWYER AND AS SOON AS MY LEASE IS UP IM OUTTA HERE. more

What a great place to call home 1/19/2012

I have lived at Village on the Park for 15 years. I love it here. The office staff is friendly and takes care of anything I ask. The maintenance is great. When I ask for a repair to be done, the maintenance is there the same day. I love the trees, pool, location and professionalism of the staff. I would and have recommended Village on the Park to many of my friends and family. more

Cheap to Live - but you get what yo pay for 6/20/2011

I moved here excited, I though it was a great place, with amenities like a pool and a walking path, and laundry room. Well the staff is friendly and nice, and I like that they will keep your mail packages safe. But again you get what you pay for. Its cheap to live here. The halls and Carpets outside of the appts are disgusting. There are giant brown stains, and are never vacuumed. Teens hang out in the hallways and throw litter everywhere. Ive been woken up plenty of times from drunks coming home late at night, in the hallways and from outside the thin windows. The windows dont have locks, making me feel insecure. There is no central air, and a tiny OLD A/C unit, that doesnt cool down your place. The laundry room, not great either. Ive had machines eat money, and worse, people who think their clothes are in my machine will open the machine, find out its not their stuff then LEAVE it wide open! Wasting my time and money. There is also some jerk who parks in front of the steps because their is no open parking spaces, The worse offense is I know someone there with BEDBUGS. The complex blamed them with no proof, instead of investigating thier neighbors, and trying to prevent their spread. You can find this place has been posted on Bedbugregistry . Im not happy with the little things here, overall, Its not for everyone, but again, its cheap to live here, so you get what you pay for. more

Do not move here! 1/17/2011

We moved here in NOV 2010. The staff was friendly and assuring.... At first. The pool is always dirty and kids go there unsupervised. I called the office to tell them that 2 young girls were swimming alone because i can see the pool from my window. I stayed at that window for 30 minutes and not one staff came out to remove the little girls. My fiancee car was broken into and his radio was stolen. We got called to the office by Ryan stating that my fiancee car was too loud and he gets 3 to 4 calls about it a day! Well that was a lie because my fiancee doesnt work and only leaves the house about twice a week. Ryan said we would have to move because his car was loud! WTF!!! The neighbors are rude and nosy. And the worst part is management will enter your apt when you are away and go through your rooms. We were about a week late on our rent and one day while we were away, management came in and left sticky notes on our tv, fridge, microwave, bedroom doors, and mirror saying PAY YOUR RENT!!!! How unprofessional! First of all, they came into our private home, second of all, they went through all of our bedrooms, third of all they left sticky notes instead of a professional letter on our door. We are moving asap because this place is for the birds. do not move here! more

You've got it all wrong 7/31/2009

I've lived at Village ontthe Park for 14 years. Ryan is the best manager that this place has had. They've done so much to the this place since he's been here. Maintenance is great and I always am greeted with a smiling face when I go to the office. I've gotten to know the staff pretty well and I find it hard to believe the previous posts. I think the place is beautiful, affordable, always clean and great with customer service. That's my two cents. Pros: Great Management, clean grounds & good service more

Should be Village of the damned 7/14/2009

I moved in search for a better place to raise my children. One of the big selling points was how ""kid friendly"" the apartment complex is. Well, that turned out to be a big fat lie. The pool is always dirty and kids get into the pool without adult supervision. One afternoon me and my 4 year old were at the pool and 3 kids came in alone...one of them pushed my 4 year old into the pool and he can't swim! I told management (ryan kirby)about it and he was horrible at handling the situation. My son almost drowned. Not only that but as far as management is concerned it is a free for all for the ""16 and up"" children to run free and terrorize the entire complex. I talked to management about this several times without resolution. They will raise your rent every year, charge you a non refundable fee for a key card that you will NEVER use, and the pool area is usually filled with drinking and smoking...no fun for the kids. If you are looking for a place and have children, I would strongly advise you against this place. The biggest red flag is the so called manager thats always standing outside the office smoking like a chimney. Pros: n/a Cons: management more

Not so much of a Village 8/9/2007

I moved down here from a medium sized town called Cadillac, Mi. I moved down here to be with my fiance, and when I went for my interview with the management office at village on the park, they assured me that ""this was a wonderful place for kids"" everyone was friendly, and there would not be any problems. I am 7 months into my lease. My door has been broken since the day I moved in. My refrigderator has been not working well for three months. My stove and over turn on when they want to. My kitchen sink sprays water all over my dining room creating a water spot on my carpet. When i complain to the manager (Ryan Kirby), he says he will notify maininance. He never follows up. But thats not the worst part.\r \r The worst part is the racism that happens. And to what most are thinking I'm a black woman complaining, I'm not. The community is many mutli-racial families. Meaning there is usually a white mother with african american kids, and where is their father? Out doing things to corrupt our children with crime and bad things. And the women DESPISE white women who have white kids. (this is what I was told by them)\r \r If that weren't enough they threatened to STAB my son. And when I reported it to the management office they said I was being nit picky, and even commenced to calling me names.\r \r Personally, I wouldn't live here. Thug nation. It's a real dump that they claim is wonderful. Blech...with appartments like this the world doesn't need cardboard boxes. Pros: there are no pros to a place where your children can not play outdoors Cons: your children can not play outdoors, pools always dirty, poor maintinance more
