Joe you are right. I wish I would have read your review before I went to this place. They DO NOT stand behind their work!!! I would buy a new piece of equipment before going back to them for repair. I picked my mower up after a seasonal ""tune up"". Now it requires 12-15 pulls (literally) to crank it up. They wouldn't even consider looking at what they had done without charging me. They wanted me to pay them to fix what they broke. The owner/manager/guy in charge couldn't have been more indifferent to the situation. more

STAY AWAY!!! These people lie and dont fix anything. I took my mower in for a blade replacement and a tune up. The 10 work days they promised me turned into 3 1/2 weeks. The day after we got it back the blade fell of while I was using it and it back fired (no tune up). We wnet to complain immediately and there was no apology or sign of concern. After they looked it over they concluded that it was my fault and I broke an even more expensive part! Meanwhile I had to pay a lawn man to cut my grass because I was out my mower. To top things off, we came back to pick it up a week later and we check to see if it starts. IT WOULD NOT START!!! They looked at it and said they didnt know why. We took our mower that was now in worse condition than it was when we first dropped it off hundreds of dollars and 2 months ago!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! more

This place is a joke. My lawnmower need only a belt and a rod. I was told i would have it back in one week, that has turned into 7 weeks. I'm having HELL getting it back i was quoted one price and now they have told me another price after they ordered the wrong part TWICE. i called to speak with ELVIS and he refused to speak with me that is fine he can speak with EMILY AKIN of Akins Army, and the BBB....Man i wish Marvin ZINDLER was ALIVE!!!! more

This place does nothing but lie to you, Especially if you are white and they think that you don't understand Spanish. I have to agree with the post from 2008, basically the same thing happened to me. Then when they find out your understand what they are talking about they get mad and want you to just get your stuff and get out. I have never dealt with a company that acts this way. Stand behind your repairs and dont make-up lies to tell the customer. I felt that they just wanted me to pay more for the repairs than the simple fix that I requested them to do. more

I have used University Lawnmower for many years to repair my lawnmowers and edgers. I was surprised that others have had a bad experience, as they have provided me fast and reliable repairs. Pros: Fast, fair pricing more

I am an anglo but I speak Spanish fluently. I can tell you that these people talk to each other in Spanish, then turn around and tell the non-speakers bold-faced lies. I heard them while I was waiting there for equipment of mine that they couldn't find. Then one employee turned around and lied to me too and I answered him in Spanish, saying I heard what he had just said to a guy who must've been the boss, and that I knew what he was saying wasn't true. The boss got mad and the whole situation went down from there. I got my saw, which still doesn't run well, and left. I will never go back. Later, I was complaining to our yard guy and he said he used to go there but he won't anymore because they will tell you mentiras (lies). And he's hispanic. You'd do better to go to Southwest Mower on Willowbend or Southwest Fertilizer on Bissonnet if you live in SW Houston. Pros: The lady clerk was nice. Cons: Hard to park, hard to tell if being lied to, unfair to customers more
