Do not go here for any watch/clock repair work. I brought my clock in for an estimate. Turned out it was more than I wanted to spend- took the clock home. When I looked at it, it had a missing part. I returned the clock and asked that it be restored to the condition in which I brought it in. I was accused of doing the damage (I did not touch the clock). I retrieved it a second time (the part was replaced) and was told never to return--not a problem.\r \r I have rarely been treated in a worse manner by a shopkeeper more

I would like to thank Tuel Jewelers for ALWAYS helping me and my family. For generations our family has come to Tuel Jewelers for all of our jewelry needs. They have always gone above and beyond to help us even when we needed things in a hurry. It is sad to see that people write horrible things about businesses and can get away with it without REALLY knowing who they are. I am sure the ones that wrote these reviews wanted something for nothing because the reviews do NOT match who this great place is. I hope they are here for years to come! more

Let me just say that based on my ring's appearance, and the experiences my fiance and I have had (I went into the store with him on multiple occasions), we've decided to accept the ring as it is from Tuel Jewelers and take it elsewhere to spend more money to have it fixed.\r \r I did remove the long, detailed review because some of the things I wrote in my review were things that my fiance told me about when I wasn't there in person or on the phone to witness.\r This review will remain.\r Free speech. I am entitled to state my opinion, just as I am entitled to recommend other jewelry stores.\r \r We gave them a chance to fix the ring, but there are more things wrong with it. We are so fed up we'd rather spend more money to get someone else to fix it.\r \r We wish we read the reviews before going to Tuel. \r Make sure you get everything in writing! They were EXTREMELY RUDE to me without provocation. My watch needed to be serviced with them for a few days so I asked for a receipt, which they had not offered me. Seems logical to me to get a receipt when leaving a $1,000 watch. Before leaving, I reviewed the receipt and politely asked a question about it. The manager/owner came over and tore up the receipt and very rudely told me they didn't want to service my watch any more. I was dumbfounded because things seemed pleasant until then. I tried pacify the shopkeeper but she just kept rudely telling me that I had been too picky and to take my business elsewhere. They did me a big favor because I found more reputable jewelers afterwards. Others were not surprised about my experience at Tuel and had horror stories of their own. There are far friendlier and more reputable shops in Charlottesville. more

I have always had great experiences with Tuel. MAYBE someone had an off day but it could have EASILY been the customer who was so disatisfied. I am, by no means, a $5,000 customer and I have always been treated with kindness and respect. Service is great. LOVE THEM. more

I have been been a customer of Tuel Jewelers for 20 years. Mrs. Loose & her daughters, Mary & Frieda have helped me with everything from having stones reset to purchasing baby gifts & ordering special items. The ladies have gone out of their way to assist me in purchasing items within my budget range & have been willing to do a rush order when necessary. Their service is just as friendly when I only need to have a watch battery replaced as it is when I want to purchase a special gift. I have recommended Tuel Jewelers to many people & have heard no complaints from anyone. Their store is easy to find & parking is free in the parking garage because they stamp your ticket for you. Locally owned & great place to shop. more

I don't think that they're all that horrible. They seem like nice old ladies to me. Everybody was very nice and helpful. When I came in with my husband they were so sweet. more

It is sad that people can hide behind their e-mails on a web site such as this, and not have the decency to confront the staff with their problems. Tuel Jewelers has been in business since 1945. If they were "out for blood" then they would not have survived as many years as they have. I know that the $5.00 customer is just as important as the $5,000.00 customer. Also, they just won the Chamber of Commerce small business award. Guess that defuncts all worries if they are reputable. more

Don't believe a word from this store's website, and don't let that open and airy photo fool you either! Tuel Jewelers is a terrible place to have any sort of repair work done! Overpriced and rude service is all that you will find here. Their sales staff are only helpful if you LOOK like good business, not if you actually are. Stay away from these people; they are out for blood! more

I liked this jeweler not so much for their selection, which I would say is very common and typical, but for their sales staff who took several hours of their time teaching me about how to select a good setting and diamonds. The people there were also very creative with their suggestions, which gave me more confidence and reduced pressure when purchasing a ring. I'd go there again with no hesitation! more
