When i got up this morning I noticed as I walked by that there was a posted sign on the door that they had closed. Going back several weeks I will shed a little light on the subject. Myselff have been a loyal customer for some time and frequented this restaraunt several times a week. We found the food good, the staff very friendly and the atmosphere very ""home town."" It seemed to give the feel of what we have come to love about Silverton. Then a couple of weeks ago as wee were having our morning breakfast we couldnt help but notice as the waitresses changed shifts and the the new waitress took over athe atmosphere changed, ( I later found out the waitress was the owners daughter.) There was an elderly lady sitting next to us when requesting information on the morning specials was snapped at by the waitress that she had just started her shift and didnt know what they were. She was then not waited on...at all...ever !!! We finished our meal over the course of about a half hour. Upon paying the bill I introduced myself to the waitress and she to me, she identified herself as the owners daughter. I explained to her what I had witnessed and that i fealt her actions and lack of service to this elderly lady was not acceptable. Her response was that of intentional arrogance. After this we found a new restaraunt to spend our mornings...I find this unfortunate as everything else about the restaraunt was wonderful...the essense of the small town we have come to love. I feel badly for the people that are now out of work and the diner that has been a landmark in this town for almost fifty years...and I cant help but wonder how much of its demise was created by the attitude of this yough lady.
