The Young Children's Academy

Our daughter attended TYCA for 2 years, one was in the VPK program, after a disappointing childcare experience. However at TYCA, I felt she was safe and wanted at all times. I liked the security camera feature for classroom and playground. I think the cost was reasonable for quality childcare at early open hours. \r The staff was always personable with the families, creating opportunities for parents to get to meet and really create a community feeling, like they have at elementary schools, with Picture day and Open House too. We have watched the center grow, and now our son attends TYCA. more

My son is 3 and has been attending TYCA since age 1. He used to cry when I first dropped him off, and the staff was wonderful about getting him comfortable. I know because I could watch on the webcam throughout the day, and when I picked him up he was always happy and hugged his teachers and even asked to stay! \r I look forward to him being in VPK next year with TYCA. I feel that for the environment and location, the tuition is reasonable. The staff attend inservice workshops and look for positive behavioral support to redirect behaviors like biting and tantrums. The director listens to parents and seems to care deeply about the whole child. I highly recommend this center to anyone. more

My daughter has been attending TYCA for almost 3 years now. She love it and all of her teachers. I too am very fond of all the staff there. They are all very kind, thoughtful, caring, and friendly people. There are online cameras in every classroom and out on the playground for you to view your child in their learning environment. They participate in the State Run Voluntary Pre-K program. I feel that my daughter has learned more than she will need for her first day in kindergarten. She absolutely loves going to "school" there. more

Both of my children attend this preschool. My oldest is 4 years old and has gone to this school since she was 1, and my 1 year old has gone here since she was 8 months old. My oldest daughter is doing outstanding. She needs to be challenged daily and the staff has proved to be very responsive to this. My one year old loves her teacher and every day both children are fighting to get out of the car and to get inside and start their day. As a mom I had reservations of course at first with both of my children but I feel that I wouldn't want anyone else with my children practically raising them. My children have had accidents, which is just that accidents. I was notified immediately, if it was serious. I am indebted to this school for my sanity and always will be. more

TYCA is the very BEST daycare. From the very moment I entered the TYCA facility, I was very impressed. Of course it is clean and orderly, but most importantly, the teachers genuinely care about the children. It is noticeable that they truly want to be there for the children; to make them happy, to learn and to grow. The owner /director is excellent. She is very thorough and responsible. My daughter's teacher is the greatest and my daughter is crazy about her. If you have to be away from your child, and want the comfort of knowing they are in the best hands they could possible be in otherwise, TYCA is without a doubt the #1 choice. more

I took my 1 year old here, and took him out within the first week. My husband and I decided on tyca because of the security features, and that you can check on your child throughout the day via web cam. It was horrible to see how my child was left constantly crying, kids standing on top of the play stoves while the teacher has her back to them. Worst of all my child was hurt on the second day. The teacher placed a kid in a swing, pulled it back and let go. Then, walked away leaving the child in the swing unattended. Meanwhile, my son walked in front of the swing, and of course got hit. It split his lip and eyelid. When I came to pick him up, I found blood on his eye. I asked what happened (because they NEVER called me to tell me) and they explained. They also told me I must have brought him to school with blood on his eyelid because they did not see it. I DONT THINK SO. My son was not injured when I brought him.
