Best

When arriving in Atlanta I made a search for a mongolian grill and screamed with excitement when I found...

Worst

We met friends we have seen in years with their children for dinner. The meal was good especially since were with children everyone was satisfied because they were able to create ...

The worst dining experience...EVER 3/27/2010

A friend suggested this place, and though I have tried the concept before and was not impressed, i decided to give it a try anyway. The bad treatment began immediatly upon our arrival at the restaurant. The hostess was rude and hostile. The wait staff was careless and annoyed by our being there, and the manager was an arrogant jerk. We waited forever for a table, stood in line for 45 minutes to choose our food, and then were rushed through the line and interrupted several times by waiters cutting in line. Then, we had to wait another 30 minutes to get our food cooked. To make things worst, the jerk manager kicked us out so he could flip the table before half our party was even done with their meals. He did not ask us to leave. He began clapping his hands and was yelling at us to leave. He was rude, disrespectful, and arrogant. This was a humiliating experience, the food was not very good, and the prices are outrageous for what you get. Do yourself a favor and avoid this dump like the plague. Pros: Not a single one! Cons: Humiliating treatment more

If you don't like it, it's your own fault! 2/22/2010

Chow Baby is one of those unique places that everyone should try at least once. The process of piling up ingredients and waiting in anticipation to find out what your creation is going to taste like is definitely the highlight. What you're bound to discover once the food arrives is there is most likely a reason you aren't an Executive Chef for an Asian fusion restaurant. But not to worry, if you screw up too bad just get back in line and follow one of the recipes posted on the wall - that is, if you don't mind waiting in line one more time. To really enjoy Chow Baby, you've got to be in the right mindset. Don't take it too seriously, and again, be ready to wait in line. Pros: DIY experimentation Cons: long lines, sub-par service more

ro*ches replace lo mein? 8/11/2009

My experiences at this restaurant get worse with every visit. Last time I was there I saw 3 co*kroa*hes and they weren't serving lo mein anymore. WTF??? I had to wait in the buffet line for like 20 minutes. Pros: Can be delicious sometimes. Cons: not consistent, too busy for enjoyment more

Try another stir-fry restaurant in town 8/3/2009

If you don't like poor services, loud music, burned food at Chow Baby, try HOT BOWL in Roswell. You'll be happy. Similar concept with all fresh ingredients. Excellent services, friendly & helpful staffs, cheaper $6.95 for lunch, $8.95 dinner, kid is $4.95 with soup & dessert included. Pros: location Cons: poor more

Great price - great taste! 7/3/2009

Took my son and his girlfriend at lunchtime to celebrate his birthday here as we had heard a lot about it, and were pleasantly surprised by the whole process of selecting items and havng them stir-fried. It was not a long wait from the time we gave our bowls to the cook and the time we sat down at our table. And we had a fabulous server named Jackie, very knowledgeble, especially about saki! Only complaint, my son had a jalapeno pepper in his meal that he didn't put in there, and both my son and his girflriend said their beef was a little tough. We arrived at 11:30 and there was a short line for food, but about an hour later, the line was ridiculously long. I would suggest going at lunch rather than dinner, as our server Jackie stated dinner was always crowded. Other than that, it was great and inexpensive. Fully recommend it. Pros: Item Selection Cons: Can be a long wait more

EXCELLENT! 6/21/2009

This place was excellent , but it should stay open longer. It closes at 10 o'clock. Some people go to dinner at 9:30 and don't want to be rushed. I think you would have more business if you opened for lunch Sat and Sun . Pros: Food. Cons: Closing Time & Saturday and Sunday Opening. more

Love It! 6/6/2009

I have been here for everything from family birthdays to girls gatherings. It is a smart little place with great food! Try to Part Time Lover....fabulous drink! Pros: Something for everyone more

Best on a very slow weeknight only 2/23/2009

I really love all the fresh ingredients and options provided at Chow Baby. For $11.99, you can make as many stiry fry bowls as you want. I think this is a fabulous deal. It is a great way to try small samples of different sauces, noodles, ingredients, etc. However, NEVER go during the weekend as it is an unpleasant experience. \r \r I've been several times and the service has become less friendly and competent. I had very good service the first time I went, but it has been very spotty since. Without being asked or warned, we were seated outside in the intense heat without being asked ahead of time if outside seating was okay. We waited an hour for this table, which we assumed would be inside, and we were told in a terse manner that it would be another hour to get a table inside. A hot stir-fry in 95 degrees is not fun at all. As this was a weekend night, there was a long line of people assembling their stir fry bowls and it took forever to get through the line. After waiting in line and then getting the stir fry delivered, I realized that there were about 4 ingredients in my stir fry that I did not put in my bowl. They mixed my bowl with other patrons' food. Our waitress was not friendly at all, brought our waters late, and we had to chase her down several times because she neglected our table. My friend's bowl never arrived and they wouldn't even comp it on the bill after she waited for 20 minutes and was told twice that they'd check on her food. \r \r I am not going to entirely give up on this place, but I will only go on a Monday or Tuesday night around 5pm. Pros: Good Choices, Unique Concept Cons: Bad for Large Groups, Long weekend lines, Decline in Service more

Good Food 2/11/2009

Come and try. You can pick up your own ingridients. Everything is fresh. Good sauces. Open 7 days a week. more

Not something I will try again 1/30/2009

Went last year for my brother's birthday and was really excited to try their concept....except everything I tried tasted bland! I'm a pretty good cook and tried following their recipes to a t, but still everything was so bad I couldn't finish it. The extra money you pay for the shrimp can be put to better use as they give you 4 tiny, tiny, baby shrimps on a small toothpick. Pros: ambiance, decor Cons: food more

Great Experience 12/1/2008

This restaurant gets what customer service is all about. Not only is the food great, but they seem to truly value each and every customer. Pros: Great Service and wait more

Very Different Experience...Great Place!! Really Stands out Amongst other restaurants 10/13/2008

Me and my wife went here and absolutely enjoyed it. We arrived when dinner started and were greeted with a long line around its building... We were promptly seated and had a wonderful waitress named Chrystal. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and she was very nice! They have a system for fixing your food that is very smooth and cool. All the ingredients are very fresh and fully stocked at all times... the secret to it al are the sauces. they make the dish! i love this place!!! Pros: great food!!! great servers!!! good atmosphere Cons: very very crwoded. the place is rather small for the amount of clientele they have.. more

Hip, Unique, Fun place to go, and great food! 7/21/2008

Great place for a date! The food was really quite tasty and such an active unique idea for a dinner or meal. Quick tip: when reading a review consider what kind of person you are. Yes this place was louder, a little hurried, hip, and slighty cramp, but if you're looking for a good time and a quiet intimate dinner is NOT what you're going for then this is it! The food line appears long but it disappears quick. There is a huge menu and ingredients list to look at; you're surprised how quick it moves. The service was fantastic! The cooks even cooked mine in a seperate wok with water instead of oil. I will say the bar area was weak. We visited on a wed. night and it was crowded with a short wait (can't imagine a fri. or sat. night!), so the small bar area wasn't exactly ideal. The area wasn't the best, but it is close to Atlantic Station. All in all very good, the manager even stopped and chatted at the end of our visit, which is rare these days. Definite repeat customers! Pros: High quality food! You get exactly what you want! Ask for Laura! Cons: Bar area is weak more

Crowded, loud, and expensive 7/2/2008

The hostess wouldn't let my husband and I sit down at a table because we were waiting for two more people even though we wanted to order drinks and appetizers and the restaurant was almost empty. Then we stood in line for 20 minutes to make our own food. My husband ordered a wrap which means the chef puts a tortilla on top of your stir fry - they don't even wrap it up for you. My friend ended up with a fly stir fried in her meal (although the restauarant did give her a free dessert to make up for this). I wanted a second helping but by this time the line was at least 30 minutes long. So for $12 I got a smallish bowl of stir fry that I basically made myself. And the music is REALLY loud. I would never go here again. Noodle and Doc Chey's have similar food but are much tastier and cheaper. Pros: Calamari was delicious. Cons: Service, wait, food quality, ambience, parking, price. more

OMG 4/9/2008

This is the best thing since sliced bread! Food is to die for! Plus it has a full bar . I love this place so much me and my husband are thinking of buying a Chow Baby! Pros: To die for! Cons: Kinda small more

Great Food for the price. Youll leave very full. 3/16/2008

Great food, good size portions, worth the money. Went here for a luncheon for my job. Kind of crowed and small restaurant, but its worth the wait and the money. Its all you can eat stir fry. You choose all the ingrediants and they whip it up for you. Lunch time is real busy because they have that special going on. Pros: Great Food Cons: Lunch time is croweded as hellllllllll. Need to move into a bigger space. more

Great Price and PLENTY of food! 3/12/2008

My family and I visited ""Chow Baby"" for the first time on Monday, February 25, 2008, for my boyfriends birthday, and we were all first timers. Everyone loved the food AND it's all-you-can-eat. There were 17 people total and the server was attentive to everyone equally. We were able to add several different types of meats (seafood, red meat, or chicken) rice, noodle, sauces, etc...just plain great! If your looking for a great all-you-care-to-eat with great price, The Real Chow Baby is where you should go. AND for the icing on the birthday cake we saw, ""they call me...US-HER RA-YM-OND"", as we were leaving. So it's a GREAT place to eat no matter what your budget is! more

Great vibe! 2/26/2008

My brother and I went here for the first time last night and we both absolutely loved it.\r It was fresh, fun, and upbeat. The server explained the whole stir-fry concept to help us create our own dishes. The appetizers we tried were really good and great portions (steamed dumplings and egg rolls).\r Loved it and forever hooked!\r Pros: Number of vegetable options, valet parking more

If you like Hassle free STAY FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR AWAY!!!! 2/16/2008

If you're one of those crazies who likes to park with no problem, walk in with no problem, order and eat, forget get this place. Give the sheep a second to find someplace else to flock to, then come back. This whole scene is full of fake people who want to be seen, and depending on the size of your party, you could be told of 60-90 minute wait times just to get inside, get a table then stand in line for another 30 minutes. Did I mention the selfish sheep who smoke where people are waiting to get inside? Have fun, or save your sanity and just go to Mama Fu's! more

Great way to please everyone! 1/3/2008

Chow Baby is a fabulous meal idea and is well executed, too! The food is fresh and you can havie any way you want it. For those who fear making decisions, there are recommendations on how to create dishes. For those who know their tastes, it can be fun and adventurous! It is a bit pricy if you are a light eater, one round costs the same as two or more, so go hungry!\r The only way to park is valet, and it is s-l-o-w. the restaurant is always packed so take your patience! Pros: Really fresh and to your specifications Cons: LOUD - you cannot carry on a converstaion; slow - plan a long lunch. more
