The Goddard School

We enrolled our 9 month old son into The Goddard School over a year ago, when we moved into the area. From our initial meeting with Mr. Sal (the owner), my husband and I knew we had found the perfect spot for our son. The facility is clean, welcoming, and organized. The educational and social lessons that your child receives is comparible to none. Communication between teachers, directors, and parents is open and exceptional. All of the teachers have such big hearts, gentle spirits, and are so talented and passionate about what they do. We felt so comfortable and knew our child was in good hands. The entire staff has become family to us, and our son adores each moment he spends with them. If you are looking for the best daycare in Gilbertsville to enroll your child, this is it. Our now 2 year old has not only had a blast while attending, he has learned so much, including using polite manners and sharing. It's hard as a parent to leave your angels in other's hands... But I knew the hands that were taking care of him each day, loved him just as we do... And that is what sets this school on top of all others! more

My son attends The Goddard School - Gilbertsville and has for about a year now. Let me start by saying that there are old reviews out there from before the new owner took over. Sal (the new owner) and his staff are amazing. Goddard and their staff are held to a higher standard than other pre-schools. I stress that this is a pre-school NOT a day care. There's a difference. Even in the nursery they have activities and curriculum which of course becomes more apparent as the children grow and move into the other rooms. It was important for me to send my son to a place that would teach him not just babysit him. Sal impresses me as he knows every parent and every child's name. He is extremely involved in the program and he is there everyday. You will see his enthusiasm the minute you meet him. The director Stefanie is also wonderful. I have recently been asked to share my opinion on the care of my child while attending the Goddard School in Gilbertsville Pa. Personally, it didn't take me long to respond with...Sure I'd love to! I am a mother of two children one of which attends Goddard School on a daily basis. My son started at Goddard when he was just a toddler and soon will be leaving the school to attend kindergarten, this was definitely one of the best choices I have made for my son. My son lacks socialization skills which makes it difficult for him to be in a social setting but he has come a long way with the help of Goddard's staff and the patience of each and everyone that works in the school. The staff provided me with the comfort in knowing that my child would be safe while I was at work, he would be taken care of and I wouldn't have to worry about him every second of the day. My son has been here for almost 2 years since he was 12 weeks old. He has been through the infant, pre-toddler and toddler rooms and will soon be in "get set". I have found the teachers and director (the recent one) to be great and very attentive to the children. They get to know each child and help them excel and grow individuals. I am very pleased with the care and know he will be well cared for their. I'm sorry the other poster had trouble, but I haven't had problems - they are understanding if you have concerns. I feel they teach a great deal to the students including self-help skills like being responsible, kind, washing hands, cleaning up, etc. They do art projects, read and sing every day. This is probably the worst daycare school in the area. There are other much better daycare schools in the area. They are under-staffed and disorganized. The owner does not care about children at all. They rotate teachers and children daily from class to class trying to meet the teacher to child ratio. There were many days were they did not meet the teacher to child ratio, many days they (almost every day) they did not keep my child who was in the infant room on her daily feeding & nap schedule. There were days they would forget to give her a bottle and one day they didn't feed her lunch... because of the lack of communication as they rotated teachers in & out of the infant room. Beware of the owner; he will lie right to your face. He cannot be trusted and the teachers are at his mercy since he does the hiring. There are many other great schools in the area.
