Went last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary on the recommendation of a friend. Finding the entrance was tough and they could do with a small sign or two to lead the way! The cellar itself is a cozy and fascinating little place but the horrible stench just about sent me back out the door in a hurry. I am not exaggerating: it smells like cat pee all over that place! We honestly thought a cat must have snuck in and sprayed till I read other reviews that had similar complaints.
The food was okay. My soup was a little cold but the steak was decent. Nothing blew us away except the very romantic atmosphere, which we loved. Service was deathly slow; after 90 minutes, we were barely into our salads. Our entire meal was about 3 hours with plenty of lag time with no food in front of us.
When we left, we were so thrilled to gulp in some fresh air and leave that musty stink behind, but we don't exactly regret going. It was memorable and felt fancy for our special occasion. We certainly won't come back but it was memorable.
