We went to Tayst last month. For three cocktails, one appetizer, and two entrees, we spent $100. This isn't unusual in Nashville, but what we didn't get much for our money. I had the steamed clams appetizer, which was good but smallish. I had the Poussin entree' and was very disappointed. The meat of the dish consisted of five bites of chicken. This would have been acceptable at a tapas restaurant, but $20+ for five bites of chicken?! The service wasn't great: it took about a half-hour after we'd cleared our appetizers to receive our entrees. The server came out at one point and apologized for the ""kitchen mix-up,"" but no effort to assuage us was made. I can understand a busy kitchen on a Saturday night, but Tayst is a relatively small restaurant. And they apparently like to make small food as well.
Pros: Good weekend access, Bar selection, Bar staff
Cons: , Hit-or-miss service, Beatnik atmosphere
