I've had the privilege to chaperone exchange students from Korea around Pittsburgh. My group was here for about a month, and the previous chaperones took them everywhere American...

Worst

Not very good for the price. Very expensive combo meals and didn't even come with the normal soup or salad you'd expect from a sushi restaurant at this pricepoint.

I have never had a bad meal at Sushi Kim. I think their food is great. I have never tried their Korean BBQ buffet, but I look forward to that one evening. more

should have been voted worst sushi 1/18/2006

I have been to many sushi resturants all over the world, but I have to say this was the worst sushi I have ever seen I couldn't even eat some of it. The uni looked like it was from the 80's. The korean food was average so at least I didn't starve. I have never had to return sushi before. The atmosphere was good and service was excellent. I went there with high expectations after they have been voted best sushi for so many years. but the quality of the fish was below subpar. stay away... Pros: nice atmosphere, good service Cons: bad sushi more

""Delicious"" Korean B.B.Q Buffet 10/12/2005

The korean B.B.Q buffet is the best I have tried in Pittsburgh. It is ""all you can eat"". Pittsburgh Post Gazette also highly recommended it.There are a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and korean side dishes. You cook the food on your table, and the atmosphere of the second floor is nice. Pros: ambience, polite waiters, great price, karaoke party room more

Best sushi in Pittsburgh 3/18/2005

Fish is very fresh and the waiting time is minimal. It is not expensive, and Mr.Kim and the entire staff are very nice. It is my favorite place to eat here. I highly recommend it!! Pros: inexpensive, great service, great environment more

I love the long and beautiful sushi bar they have. The atmosphere is nice and cozy.... i love the gal bi barbeque and all those little side dishes that you get... Sushi platters are very good quality and inexpensive. i can't wait for the second floor to open for the korean style BBQ buffet... Anyone can fall in love with Sushi Kim.... more

The Best in the burgh.... 2/16/2005

talk about value and quality of sushi & sashimi!!! best sushi & sashimi i ever had anywhere in the state. sushi kim has done a superb job till now. mr. kim has come a long way to bring excellent quality to pittsburghers. love the place and the people. don't forget to ask for special sashimi.... you never know what they will have for you. great place.. .would definately recommend to anyone who is looking for a awesome place to go. more

Sushi 2/6/2005

I had sishimi (sliced fish). It cost ~$9.00 and was very bland. I couldn't tell pieces of one type of fish from pieces of another type. Given its consistency and lack of flavor, the fish had probably been frozen and thawed. And on a more minor note, the soy sauce (which you needed if you wanted flavor) was not very good. more

nothing special 8/4/2004

My girlfriend and I both love sushi and decided to get some takeout from Sushi Kim. I was less than impressed with the quality of both the fish and the rice. Both were very bland. I have heard, through word-of-mouth, many positive reviews of Sushi Kim, so perhaps my experience occured on an ""off-night"". But until I feel like ""experimenting"" again I'll take my business elsewhere in the 'burgh. more

I Love Sushi Kim!! 6/11/2004

Sushi Kim is the best place I have gone for food in the afternoon and the night and it feels like the food gets better and better after each day!! I love the exotic environment, the caring staff, and the cleaness of the whole restaurant!! Sushi Kim keeps me coming back for more and more each week! I would recomend Sushi Kim to ANYONE who hasn't gone because once they eat the exsquisite food, they will keep coming back for more!!!!! The sushi Kim was a very good sushi..I have ever had. The wait staff is very good and the owner makes sure that everything is in order. And also sushi Kim keeps the fish fresh and safely. I love sushi so I came almost sushi bar in the Pittsburgh. I have never seen the sushi restaurants keep flash fish like Sushi Kim. unbelieveble.. excellent fresh fish on there. I guarantee that they use most fresh fish in the Pittsburgh. more

I've been to many different Sushi Bars in Pgh, but Sushi Kim keeps me coming back for more. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food. The best! more

Mediocre 10/4/2002

The sushi was OK, but not stellar. I've had much better elsewhere in Pittsburgh. The non-sushi selections are primarily Korean, and again I've had much better Korean elsewhere as well. more
