Had a great time there last weekend! My sisters and I brought our Mom up there for a weekend get away, her first vacation since her 5 month hospitalization last yr. Your accommodations were perfect for her considering she still has to use a walker and wheelchair. I will definately be returning!! more

I stay at the Sidney James each year for the Mountain Hounds event (an awesome get-together for greyhounds and the people who love them). This year will be our 5th year and I can't wait!!\r \r The regular double rooms offer everything we need and although not overly fancy with things we don't need, they are so reasonably priced which allows us to stay much longer than at places charging twice as much. A longer trip is way more important to me than what the room looks like as we don't spend much time in the room anyway, we are on vacation!\r \r The staff is always so nice and friendly and easy to deal with... if only all hotels had this kind of front desk staff!! They are always glad to see the greyhounds! Just this morning I called to extend my stay next month for an extra day, and as usual, the staff was gracious and took care of my request quickly. I can't wait to get there this year, and will be back every year for Mountain Hounds, DoG willing! more

I loved it!! Beautiful creek side room, very good rates, walking distance to everything! I would stay here every time. Wonderful swimming area- hot tub area, fitness rm. I enjoyed my visit to gatlinburg so much and this hotel was a big part of it! more

When i was looking for places to stay, I kept coming across this lodge that I had never stayed at or heard of before. After checking a few other places and not wanting to pay outrageous prices, I went ahead and booked Sidney James. Loved the location and the creekside room we were given. Staff is very friendly and i loved that it was away from all of the tourist traffic. Will definetly stay there again! more

We had a very nice room with a small balcony overlooking the stream that runs behind the lodge. We didn't use the pool, or make use of the restaurant so can't help with those.\r We would definitely go back and/or recommend the Lodge, as a matter of fact we already have! more

This hotel was great. The room we had was super clean and very well maintaned. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The greeted us every time we walked by the desk. There is a trolley stop right outside, which is great because the parking in gatlinburg is around $8. Tou can ride the trolley all day for 2$. We would stay here again. And we recommend that you staynthere as well. more

I really enjoyed staying at Sidney James Mountain Lodge the view off the balcony was awesome. The patio where you grill was great we did some grilling there. Ireally enjoyed the swimming area also. We will be staying there again. the staff was very nice ESPECIALLY Melissa she was GREAT!!!!! more

We booked this hotel on line a couple of days before we turned up and selected the jacuzzi room. The lovely lady on reception said ""you will love this room"" and she was right! It was huge, but cosy with a large fire in the corner and a fabulous jacuzzi which just made it perfect. Outside on the balcony there were squirrels and chipmunks, birds and an unidentified furry animal (like a prairie dog perhaps) and the river running by. The hotel is away from the main road in downtown Gatlinburg but within easy walking distance of bars, shops and restaurants if you are reasonably fit. We had a brilliant time and found everyone to be very friendly. We would definitely stay there again, provided we could have that room more

I have stayed several times here and have always left feeling kinda sad because of the way i have been treated here (Great!). My wife and I will be back twice in 2013 going back to OHIO for summer for a week and excited to visit again at Christmas time for. Week Plus. Five stars for us. more

I stayed here in mid summer as part of a huge Mopar group. My room was on the first floor, creekside. Everything in the room functioned normaly, and I had a balcony overlooking the creek. All the car club members were able to gather in the parking lot, and swap stories, party till wee hours of the morning, etc. There are several restaurants that deliver right to your door, so no need to drive anywhere if you don't want to. The onsite cafe has excellent food also. The staff was very friendly. I'll be staying here again this summer for the car meet. Can't wait!! more

It was a great place to stay. Staff was courtious and friendly. Views are awesome. It is a little bit off the strip but perfect for us with a new baby (croud noises). The place is a little outdated, but sometimes thats not a bad thing. The top floor has high ceiling with fan, sorry no pics. Would definately stay again in a heartbeat. more

My family & I try to come to Gatlinburg a couple of times a year. We always stay at the Sydney James! The people there make you feel so at home & it's so close to everything, yet feels so private. Every Valentines my husband takes me there & they have grown so use to use, they make sure I get a club room with fireplace so my husband & I can have a romantic getaway! I love you guys! more

So glad I decided to stay there......Room was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly. Indoor pool was nice, I liked the way ot was designed. Also has a Jacuzzi and Sauna! Trolley stop near hotel. Close to main attractions. I would definitely recomend this hotel. And I will definitely stay there on my next visit to Gatlinburg, TN :-) more

i stay with sid , bill and the rest of the fine staff here at least once a year.\r everybody from sid (gm), bill (overnight desk mgr ) to the cafe staff welcome me as if it were home for me. accomodations are great......just stayed in a creekside room .....those were nice. i have my own room they reserve for me each year. this is a great, family friendly place that i reccomend highly ! more

The SJM Lodge is a family owned lodge and the staff could not have been more friendly. Our room was equipped with a fireplace which we loved. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk to the heart of Gatlinburg shopping and restaurants. We also had 2 breakfasts and one dinner at the on-site cafe. The meals were prepared perfectly. The indoor heated pool and hot tub looked so inviting we regretted not packing our swimsuits. It was an excellent value and we would highly recommend it. The hotel also provided free Wi-Fi which was a nice bonus.\r \r It is about a 15 degree walk up hill and upon return it was slow going after shopping all day. The hot water in the shower was luke warm and never got corrected. more
