When you come to Gatlinburg, stay off the main path! So, I did my sight seeing for the day, awesome! However, I just wanted to share my highlight of the day. I’m staying at the Sidney James Lodge(room 103) Yesterday I ordered a ½ pound burger with cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. It was great! Just went to the hotel café and she already knew what I wanted. This burger was even better!! (it beats Anita’s in Boutee) So the café closes at 2pm, which is when I picked up my burger. My foam plate to go box was waiting for me and had a name on it written on it which kinda threw me off…..till I got to my room. Picture this…..I’m in jeans, Wal-Mart jacket, and a t-shirt that says “GOT INK?” and wearing my silver chain with my little pendent. She noticed….. more

Most relaxing time I've had in years and best mini vacation ever. Your rooms were clean and the staff was great. A little saddened that the indoor pool was closed but now we have an excuse to come back. And there was a Humming bird nest just 5ft from our patio which made the stay even better more

Ok so it wont let me go back two years. Anyways, my husband(back than boyfriend) & i stayed here for the second time and loved it even more. The people at the front desk are so sweet. The room we stayed in was wonderful and dont get me started on the pool and spa. Aw man it was great. I cant wait to stay there again. more

Great on all aspects! The only thing we missed having was a microwave in the room. The view from our balcony was awesome and we loved sleeping to the sound of the waterfalls. We were on the trolley route but we walked every where instead because hotel is so close to many events. We will return! more

We had a great stay in this hotel. We stayed in the main building. Everyone was very helpful at the front desk. We were on the trolley route so we never had to start our car unless we were going out of Gatlinburg. We will definitely stay at this hotel again. more

We really enjoyed our time and our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. We saw a black bear outside our room on the creek and listening to the sounds of the water. We enjoyed the balcony but it needed a screen door so you could leave open. more

The hotel and staff were everything we wanted. We stayed in room205 The matteress need to be upgraded only real complaint we had. We had trouble with our air conditioner and a new one was installed the next day. We loved the indoor pool and spa. It rained most of our stay so we were still able to swim and enjoy the small. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We really had a great tiome at the Sidney James. We diffentley recommed this lodge. more

I just wanted to drop a quick line letting you know what an enjoyable experience we had at your Lodge this weekend. The hotel room was wonderful, roomy and very clean. Your front desk staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I had stayed at your hotel 15 years ago but had not been back. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accomodations. We will definitely return. more

I would like to say Thanks to you and your staff, because we were going to stay for a week Sept. 18-25(Sat to Sat) and the hurricane ran us out on a Tuesday so we came to you all, and you welcomed us. Your staff was GREAT, we had a great time. Thank you again. more

WOW!! You guy's are the tops!! MY husband and I stayed with you June. We have been staying with you for the past eight years and it just keeps getting better! The staff at Sidney James are always friendly and accommodating, and the quality of the rooms and atmosphere is top of the line!!! When we first stayed with Sidney James it was Thanksgiving Night, little to my knowledge it was the height of the season. Every place we stopped at, that had vacancy, had doubled their rate. Sidney James accommodated us that night and did not try to break us up. We have been back ever since and will continue to stay as long as we are able to travel to Gatlinburg. more

Very nice place to stay. The stream below our balcony was so soothing to listen to. The choice of 3 pools was great for the grandkids, the cave and waterfall is a nice touch. The staff is polite and willing to help when asked. Slightly off the main drag but a walkable distance to the strip. Will definitely chose this lodge again on a return trip. more

I moved here recently from Chicago and came across this hotel. I stayed for months at this hotel while making a job/ move transition. Let me tell you- I would ONLY stay at The Sidney James Hotel in Gatlinburg- it has the best staff/ service who bends over backward to help and accommodate. Gorgeous rooms with fireplaces and an ambiance that would make any family's trip wonderfully memorable- whether a newly wed couple or traveling family of five. Amenities are great such as their pools- however what I appreciated the most was the staff, location, and how incredibly safe I felt while staying on property. I am so thankful I stumbled across this hotel online - beyond measure. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/8/2013

I have stayed here on two occasions. It has a couple of features that make it appealing. The first is the pools. This is one of the few places in Gatlinburg to offer indoor pools. There are two indoor pools, a regular pool and a kiddie pool. There is also a good sized hot tub. The regular pool has kind of a ""lazy river"" in it. There is also a poolside ""restaurant"" for lite eating at the pool. A waterfall also adorns the indoor pools. Aside from the indoor pools there are also two outdoor pools. The second feature is the creek that runs behind, there are several places that have this. The balcony rooms are only $10 extra and worth it as far as I am concerned. Hearing the running creek is relaxing while you sleep. Third is it's location. It is close enough to downtown to walk but close enough to the wilderness to occasionally have a bear wonder through. The walk while close is down hill to Gatlinburg, therefore uphill going back. If the walk proves too much the trolly stops right in front of the hotel is only cost .50 cents per person per trip.\r As far as the condition of the hotel, it is clean. The rooms are small but serve their purpose. The bathrooms are clean, no mold anywhere. The lobby is nice and the staff helpful. There is plenty of parking even when the hotel is full. more
