Sevan The Salon

I am infuriated! This is a Review and complaint against Sevan. I have also posted my review on Yelp.com\r \r I am a redhead. After spending $$$ at Sevan on several occasions, I recently scheduled an appt for a toner and Blow-out/Finish. Upon returning home, I noticed that there was little to NO difference in the colour of my hair. In other words, it looked the same as when I arrived! To be honest, I had not been 100% satisfied with results I've received, but I always like to give people a second chance. When I phoned the owner, Susan, (who by the way is hardly there at the Salon, causing an inconvenience if you need an appointment with her), she said ""no problem"" -- that I can just come in when convenient for me and another toner would be selected at NO CHARGE. Further, she added that she didn't even need to be the one to apply the toner -- that one of her associates could do it. These were 'her' words, as the salon owner.\r \r Today I phoned the Salon to arrange to drop by for the new toner. This is the reception I received... ""There will be a charge because it's been a while since you've been here; plus, since Susan is leaving today for Costa Rica, she says that no one else can help you to select the toner, but her."" So, in summary, she re-nigged on everything she promised, and I would have to wait 2 weeks for her return from Costa Rica!\r \r Needless to say, to treat an existing client in this manner was an 'Ouch' moment., not to mention inappropriate and what I consider unacceptable! What is this reasoning? First her info to me was.... just come back for a different toner and there will be no charge -- to, now you will be charged because Susan will not be here, and it's been a while since you were here last. What happened to her words ""anyone can apply it?"" All these rules and regulations?? It's a Hair Salon, not a government agency, for gawd's sake.\r \r In summary, I do NO recommend this salon. Considering the quality of what the heads look like when they leave, which is not all that, they charge Center City prices! But I chose to go there since it's an easy drive for me. My mistake. So Thumbs Down for this Salon! more

After going to the same stylist in my hometown for years, I decided it was time to find a salon closer to home. A friend reccommended Susan (or Meg) at Sevan, so I made an appointment with Susan. I got an appointment very quickly. (and their hours are really convenient for someone who works full time!) \r First impression when I walked in... GREAT! Everyone smiles and says hello when you walk in! They are really welcoming and friendly, especially the girl at the front desk! (Which is something that is really important to me. I hate when the front desk person is rude or acts like you are bothering them. NOT HERE! They seem happy to see you, know your name, etc.)\r For being a high-end salon, they were not pretencious or intimidating at all. I felt like I have been going there for years. \r The waiting room is comfortable and nice. It is in the back of the salon, which I like because I hate when people in the waiting room are watching you get your hair cut or colored. I had to wait a few minutes, but just a normal amont of time. And Susan acknowledged that I was there and said hello and made sure I knew that she knew I was there. I appreciated that. \r As for the actual hair cut and color... AWESOME! Susan did an amazing job! She even took extra time to do more than I had asked because she knew what I wanted more than I did! She went above and beyond to make me look good! (Especially because I was getting my hair done after a 3 month maternity leave and she wanted me to feel great when I went back to work.)\r My husband and a few friends also go to Meg and really like her! \r Prices were comparable to other salons, so no surprises there.\r Overall, I highly reccommend Sevan. I have been extremely happy with their service and am a very satisfied client! \r \r \r more

I was really exciting to try this salon after moving to the area. My roommate goes here and she loves it. \r \r I have to say, the environment was great! The stylists and the receptionist were so friendly and welcoming but the problems started as soon as I walked in. My stylist, STACI, told me to go check out the boutique next door because she was running behind. Being my first time here, I didn't know where the waiting room was yet(in the back) but I wasn't interested in checking out this boutique. Having a seat in the waiting room apparently was not an option. 15 min after my appointment was supposed to start (after she finished up a haircut and waxing someone else) it was my turn. \r \r I made it clear that I had to be somewhere after the appointment. I can't even tell you how many times she turned the blow dryer off to start chatting with me anyway.\r \r Now about the actual haircut. I hate it!!! I brought in a picture and everything. Mind you, I am not a very picky person, it was a simple cut. I've had better cuts at $10 salons. \r \r I did get a message from the salon to see how I liked my cut and how it was working for me (very thoughtful). I will be calling them back today to tell them all of the above. I think I'll have to try Melissa next time because she seems to be getting great reviews and this salon is so nice and so convenient. I would hate for one person to ruin it for me. more

I was a little nervous walking into a new salon, i just moved to the area. The staff @ sevan were very friendly!! Some salons that i have been to in the past were very intimidating but the staff here were amazing. I was so pleased with my stylist Melissa, she really listened to my hair history and gave me a fabulous color and cut!! You must visit Sevan!!!! more

I believe the salon has changed its name to Sevan(7) The Salon. I am VERY particular about my hair and my stylist (Melissa) was great, my cut and color were spectacular!!!!! She did exactly what I wanted!!!! I was very pleased!! The staff and energy in the salon was very inviting not snooty!!! I made Sevan The Salon my new hair home. more
