I went to Scoogi's on a recommendation from the hotel staff. I was there a bit early, 4pm for dinner, and watched the restaurant slowly fill with local regulars. The wait staff clearly knew their names. I ordered what the waitress recommended - rigatonni with rose cream sauce, a salad and chocolate cake for dessert. It was very good, way too large of a portion (this can be good or bad depending on your point of view) for both the pasta and the dessert. The salad was pretty much awful, it was directly from a bag, which the waitress even admitted, and was wilted and old. The service was ok, I didn't get a lot of attention as I was alone and I wish I had gotten a few more drink refills, but she did recommend good choices. The bread was fine, nothing too amazing, very simple. Chocolate cake was/is very good - the slice is enough for 4 people, very rich and chocolatey, reminds me of that chocolate cake in the book Mathilda :) Ambience? it was kind of dark for my taste, but could theoretically be romantic, though it was a casual place. It looked to have a decent wine list, though I didn't try anything. They were a little underprepared to open at 4pm, if I had gone at 5pm I may have been better served (specials weren't listed, the hostess was not at her stand). Overall I would recommend it for some good pasta at a reasonable price.
Pros: pasta, price (especially before 530)
Cons: bad salad
