I needed to repair drainage issues around my basement and repair bowed walls and deteriorating porch and steps. Since this is an important job I wanted to hire a professional whose skill is masonry. Roger's ad claims he is the #1 name in concrete. I'm not sure how he ranks that but he is now #1 on my list, but it's a different kind of list. EVERYTHING that he did he did wrong. Repairs to garage foundation were made without proper footer. Stucco fell off after three months and cracks returned exactly as before. He damaged my siding with his backhoe. He destroyed my front yard which now has cinder block protruding, (as well as pop bottles from his employees lunch break). There is a ditch in my yard, and the decorative rock that he said he would save for reuse is nowhere to be found. The new porch leaks just like the old one and signs of flaking are beginning to show less than a year in. The steps did not even meet code the first round until I insisted that he correct them. He did not install footer drains, seal the basement walls properly, or put tons of gravel in to resolve all future drainage problems as he said. Instead, the old wall was busted up and used as landfill. My basement had more leaks after hiring Roger Conrad than before, leading to black mold issues. Roger was not bothered by this or the fact that I lost furniture and the drywall in my basement due to the mold. Oh, and speaking of losing things, they tear out my basement wall and leave it open to rain, critters and thieves and that very night my DVD player, TV and surround sound get stolen! They were gonna take my boom box too but something must have scared them off. Coincidence? Maybe. But Roger was quick to repay me to settle the loss. Hmmm. His guys tracked mud through my house using my bathroom and walking past my stuff. After he was paid (long story but construction loan was a pay all or none thing) he stopped answering my calls, would not return messages and rejected certified mail. How conveeeenient. I had to track him down like an animal at the Old Roadhouse Saloon in the middle of the day to tell him about the $2,900 he overcharged me and that he still has my housekey. He says he's a ""good Christian man"" but I don't see enough proof to convict him.
My advice to you is to talk to others who have used him before hiring this guy. If you need to see the ""work"" he did in my basement let me know.
