Wow. Their sound system is awesome. If you LOVE dancing. Welcome ! Their DJ is 5 star. I love being pampered. I don't care the cost. If money is a problem.... save up. Vegas, Atl...

Worst

I never saw waters taking away your wine glasses (just because your first choice was vodka), wine bottles, half-finished dish plates without even looking at you.

Very strange service policies. 5/6/2012

Do not waste your money. 1/1/2012

Got robbed for New Year 2012. Paid $400 per person (was told $300). Then they billed $400 (included taxes, service charge and tips themselves). We were told to pay right away (I guess they knew that they were robbing people in advance and some might not pay.) The shampane was so bad we had to buy one ourselves. The vodka was even worse. The food was so limited that when we got home, we went to eat. The food was served in baby portions one peace of each, most of it tasted horrible. The meat was served at 3.30am, before then everything was sea food, so if you do not like sea food you were to go to Mc. Donalds or starve. All food was cold. And they started their program at 11.45pm, with no show at all. Overall the restaurant was even worse then Russian Dolls and that show was horrible. Please people if you have money to spend go some place else. more

Don't waste your time 12/27/2011

I do not even know where to begin. I and some friends thought we would venture from Manhattan and try something new. I had read the reviews online and thought …why not! We walked in and waited to be seated, no one seated us (the place was not very crowded) The staff would just walk by us and not utter a word. We were dressed to the 9's with big smiles. Finally, someone seated us at a table. We sat for about 20 minutes before anyone offered us drinks or a menu. We ordered some appetizers to start off with and the pate’ was ok. Everything else was simply awful! I cannot recall the last time I had such unpalatable food. When the waiters serve the food they are aggressive in manner that leads me to believe they had previous experience working for the KGB. The crowd is VERY TACKY with drunks dancing about the place, many lacking in proper hygiene. The show was OK, and there were a few performers that were really talented, but not worth going to for the food and service is that bad. The good reviews online must be from friends or people who do not get out much, or are ”Brooklyn Locals” who too do not travel outside of Brooklyn. I have been to Tatiana’s some time ago and the food, entertainment, and customer service was much better. Don’t waste your time here. more

An Amazing Night in Russia 4/10/2011

This past weekend I wanted something new and exciting to try out with a group of friends. We decided to try out Rasputin, a Russian Restaurant and Caberet. The menu was prix-fixe and came out in a family style platter. This worked out well because all of us were able to try many different types of dishes. I highly recommend the Margret of Long Island Duck with Raspberry Reduction. The royal Bellini was the perfect complement to the meal as my friends and I enjoyed cocktails while we caught up. We were surprised to see cabaret performances along with a house band to accompany them. Not wanting the night to end my friends and I all got up and began dancing. This was the perfect place to go to for catching up with old friends and for an overall amazing time. The food was great and I really felt like I was in Russia for a night but for a lot less money :). I will be going back here for sure to enjoy another night of good food, good music and a great atmosphere! more

Pros: If you LOVE dancing. WOW! Cons: If you dislike Russia. How can you? The people LOVE life. more

A cut above 10/9/2007

This is by far the best authentic Russian restaurant in New York. It is really not the kind of place where you get a table for two and have a quiet dinner. You should come here for a big celebration, and get a table for ten, at the very least. I recently attended a party at Rasputin, where the entire restaurant was closed for the event. I have to say that the level of service here is far above and beyond anything I've seen. As soon as you start to reach for anything at your table, a waiter will run over and get it for you. The quality of food is outstanding, and if you don't like something on the banquet menu, the restaurant is very open to substitutions. The show and band are also good. Of course, you should realize that the restaurant is expensive. That expense, however, will be somewhat balanced out by the lack of a corkage fee. In short, I will consider Rasputin for many of my special occasions. more

Great Place! If you don't expect to spend at least 250 for couple, this place is not for you. 12/29/2006

This is a Great Restaurant not for every day or even weekly dining. This place is a holiday atmosphere, not just for eating. Great show, music, food. Very unique and professional. People who say this place is terrible, they are very mistaken. If you don't like it, go to the local diner and get a dinner for 20 dollars. Don't judge the restaurant if you cannot pay for that. Yes, Rasputin is costly, but worth it, great experience. I recommend it to everyone who want to have fun and have unforgettable experience!!!!! more

Most unique russian restaurant in America! 2/25/2006

This place just like caviar is an accquired taste or in this case I guess attitude. Its not a restauarnt that was created and made to service non russian patrons I think but taht doesnt mean you can enjoy it. When it coes to russina style dinig and entertainment you do need to know hat to expect its ethnicaly very differnt from what most non russians are used to. Going to Rasputin is afull experience from eating, drinking, dancing, and show wise. you go all out with dress, tastes, and performance, and in the end its really about having a good time where you truly indulge yoursef in good vodka, compnay, music, and food. more

unique experience for adventurous folks 2/13/2006

95% of patrons are Russian. As such, if you are not Russian, you will feel like bit of ""outsider"". Appears most staff speak limited English. My sense is Russians not known for niceties or service. That said, it's a sorta odd place to just sit back and observe ""the show"" , which includes the other patrons. Food is endless. Bottles of vodka all over everyone's tables. Patrons get quite dressed-up, almost like what most folks would wear to a wedding party. Floor show is sorta over-the-top, two-decades-out-of-step tacky Eastern European style. Food quality was ""good"", but yes, pricey, but you need to remember it includes free show. This is something to experience, but don't expect white-glove service. If you go with an open mind, you should really get a kick out of this place. Pros: unique entertainment Cons: language barrier, service just "ok", not near subway more

This place is awesome 11/5/2005

Nice place to go to if you appreciate a french/euro/russian cuisine. Very nice service and atmosphere. Great place to celebrate b-day parties! Pros: valet, music, food more

Russian adventure 9/8/2005

I was at Rasputin selebrating a frind's birthday a few month agoand I loved it! See, you have to know a little about what to expect before heading there, because Russian style of entertainment is very different. We loved it!!! The food incredible and plenty of it. Vodka by the bottle (I love that - because ordering shout can cost much more) The show was incredible - we actually did not expect to see such a well put, professional Vegas type show at all and to out surprise it was very well done. I also do not think waiters there are rude- yes there are not friendly and chatty, but do provide great service. My 30th Birthday is coming up - and guess where I am celebrating!!! Pros: food, show, reasonable price more

The best Dinner-show in New York 8/30/2005

This restaurant has become a golden standard at least for all its patrons who know and love Russian food and entertainment. Its very busy and buzzing with life every time we have been there. Great for special occasions or just a night out. Last time got to try a prefix banquet called Royal It was excellent. Classic Lardon salad, Blini with caviar and Rack of Lamb were my favorite. Defiantly more food then you can possibly eat. A brand new show (changed every 6-8 moth) rivals the best Broadway/Las Vegas production. Its pricy but well worth it. I would recommend it to anyone who want to experience something unusual and exiting. Pros: Show, Food, Atmosphere more

Must try at least once!!! 7/13/2005

Went there recently on a tip from my Russian coworker. He told me that this was the best Russian restaurant outside of Russia. Very unique place. It combines good food (I had Russian Rolls and Sea Bass, both were excellent) with Vegas style show, live music and dancing till dawn. Service was curtsies and attentive. Great place for those who like to experience something new. Defiantly recommend trying at least once if not more. Pros: Overall experience, Show, Food more

Wonderful 6/6/2005

This is not your traditional 5 star. This is a very ethnic restaurant and its service targeted towards the people who can appreciate eclectic cusine, good Euro and Russian music. Service is fantastic. Been there a number of times, waiters speak several languages, polite and will good manners. (unless you provoke them, bouncers can be a bit scary... I look at it as part of the flavor, after all its Brooklyn) Pros: music, food , service more

The worst service ever.. 12/21/2004

just horrible!! 1.were seated in the very far corner ( other tables were available and we reserved)- 2.so almost didn't see the show.. 3.overpriced menu.. 4.chiken tabaka was disguisting. 5. asked for diet coke - got a plastic bottle with no glass or ice! 6. 15 min. to get the waitor to come to take the order. 7.When ordered tea, got a teapot first and after 10-15 min. - spoones and cups. 8.Never got Splenda (asked 2 times before show, 1 time after). 9.had to wait for check for 20 min after request! 10.The attitude was unappropriate ( In russian, as in French, there is a common form ""tu"" - and ""Vous""- polite one.. I speak the language, so waitor adressed to me using ""tu"", and I don't care that he was my father's age, that's not an excuse.) Over all very disappointing. we never come back! more

The Best! 5/27/2003

The atmosphere attention and service are absolutely fabulous. Food was tasteful, and not boring. I think its one of the finest Russian restaurants in NY. Pros: Decorations, Food, Service Cons: Location more
