When we started the process of freshening up our home we didn't know where to start. Preston Thompson's Carpet Shoppe has been around since I was a kid and my father taught me the value of doing business locally. Plus I found out that Preston Thompson's has been around close to 45 years and you cannot do that without creating good steady business and practicing ethics in business. Belinda held our hand the whole time and Gail directed us in the right direction as she is a professional decorator. Tom mixed the Porter Paint we had picked for the wall and he suggested that we put an additive to one of the paints to help prevent mildew since we were painting a dank basement with that color. Purchasing our investment with Preston Thompson's Carpet Shoppe made us feel there was 45 years of pride and experience ensuring us a perfect job, which it was. The 5"" hand scraped hard wood looks incredible and we'll have it forever. Preston had the best price in town too. I bet you wouldn't have thought that, but it's true. We walked in a box store that was bragging about installing their material at just a $1.15 per sq ft. Well, at Preston Thompson's, we found out that there are 9 sq ft to a sq yard which makes the box stores price at $10.35 per sq. yd while Preston Thompson's price is only $4.00 per sq yard. It's the same with carpet and pad., Don't be tricked and manipulated, Do like we did and go to Preston Thompson's Carpet Shoppe for service, 25 year labor warranties and up to 50 year wear warranties on their carpet. No one can even touch that, plus they offer up to 36 months same as cash financing. That's no interest for 3 years. No one can offer that anywhere.They definitely get a 5 star rating with us. We have has nothing but great service (as well as our friends) at Preston Thompson's Carpet in Dickson. We had them put carpet in the bedrooms and hardwood in the rest of the rooms.They did a wonderful job and at a better price than Lowes. They get 5 stars for sure. more

The Thompsons, who have been an important part of the Dickson community for over 40 years, are understandably concerned about the incident and would like to hear from the reviewer personally. \r \r The Carpet Shoppe prides itself on its customer service and is the only carpet dealer in this area who offers a 3 year written labor warranty. I purchased carpet from Preston's to support our local businesses but this turned out to be the biggest mistake ever. They were nice and helpful on the front end but as soon as there was a problem - they were ""too busy"" to speak with me. The carpet was defective and it took them over a month to let me know what they were going to do about it. In the end, I received a very minimal discount and still have defective carpet. We are about the carpet the rest of our house and we are shopping around for a store with better customer service. more
