Best

Best fish tacos I've ever had. Since eating these I don't seem to like them anywhere else that I've tried. Somthing about that sauce they use. MMmmm!

Long Time Customer 5/17/2005

I have been a customer of Pistol Pete's since they opened. The food is great and the portions are more than generous for the price. I don't know what derektool is talking about. You can always go to another restaurant where you pay more to get almost half the amount of meat in your meal and you are charged an additional $.95 if you want an extra 2 oz. of sauce (estimated cost of about $.04). I guess you if you like paying high prices for rice, beans and sauce, Pistol Pete's isn't the place for you. If you like fresh Mexican food where EVERYTHING is made from scratch, with hearty portions, then this is the place where you want to be. Having frequented Pistol Pete's for as long as I have, I have gotten to know the retaurant and the people rather well. Pros: Hearty Portions, Good Value, Quality Cons: Location more

Shoot me petes! 4/17/2005

Food: The chicken salads' chicken looks like it had just taken a swim in the local pond...and the 'tomatillo' (which the 'waitress' kindly asked about) dressing was a really bright green (all natural???). Service: the line took longer than it should have for the number of people that were there. The menu was hidden behind the fridge so you couldn't see it until you has to order, ""at which point you felt rushed"" (Rachie, 2005) Ambiance: Nice music, but were is the dance floor? ""Also liked the chandeliers, and the view on the other wall...but why couldn't I have both?"" (Kered, 2005). ""And why are all the foods listed on the walls...that's kindof wierd"" (Snazi, 2005). Value: ""we could have gootten better food for that price"" (TheEatingTeam, 2005). more

Authentic Arizona Awesome 1/9/2005

This is the tastiest mexican food I have eaten in a long time-the portions are big and full of flavor! You get a lot of meat with whatever you order. My husband usually orders the ribs and I get the nogales enchiladas and an extra plate so we can split the meal, and, they have several fresh salsas in the dining area to choose from-the chips and salsa is a must! We love this restaurant! Open more! Pros: Fast service, Fresh tortillas, Authentic more

AUTHENTIC 2/9/2004

IF THIS IS WHAT ARIZONA MEXICAN FOOD IS LIKE...FIND ME A HOME IN PHOENIX!!! UNTIL THEN, MY FRIENDS AND I ARE EATING HERE !! THE NOGALES TACOS AND ENCHILADAS ARE ADDICTIVE AND THEY HAVE JUST ADDED "" ARIZONA STYLE"" RIBS THAT ARE SO TENDER THEY MELT IN YOUR MOUTH. I ALSO LIKE THE TORTILLA SOUP AND FISH TACOS. YOU GOTTA TRY THESE GUYS. Pros: QUICK SERVICE, HOT FOOD, KIDS PORTIONS more

Worth the search..... 1/16/2004

The best authentic Mexican food in Utah. Good size portions and great quality. Fast and friendly service (you don't have to wait in line). Try their burros and Pistol taco, can't be beat. This little out of the way restaurant is a real find. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Portions, Friendly service Cons: Hard to find. more

AMAZING!!!!!! 8/9/2003

WOW, this place is wonderful. The service is fast and friendly. FINALLY, a real authentic mexican resturaunt in Utah. The food was sooooo amazing. While we were eating, one of the staff brought us this amazing enchilada to taste. He made it up and just brought it to us, they really care about their customers. And it was wonderful. Just like everything else on the menu. I highly suggest the chips and salsa, its like nothing you can get in Utah!!!! I had the cheese enchiladas and let me tell you, its a lot of food, so come hungry. This is by far the best place to get mexican food in Utah. Forget about all the other places, try this Pistol Petes and you will be hooked. I know my husband and I are!!!!!!! Pros: Great Parking, inexpensive, GREAT FOOD!!!! more

If you like Cafe Rio.... 4/11/2003

....you'll love Pistol Pete's! The food is better, the service is so much faster, and there is ALWAYS somewhere to sit! One of my biggest complaints of Cafe Rio is that there is NEVER ANY SEATS. The food here is fantastic, I recommend the chicken salad, one of the fish tacos, or the Pistol taco. They also have a milk shake that tastes a little like the Wendy's frosty, but better! The atmosphere is laid back and you never feel rushed to leave. The employees are great! They all seem to get a long well and this makes the experience for the customer very appealing!!! Oh, and the chips and salsa, I could live off them! If you have kids and you have their $1.00 off coupon, the kids meal, yah, it's seriously like $0.97! I give this place 5 big stars, I know I will be returning! Pros: reasonable prices, seating ALWAYS avail., fantastic food Cons: not easy to spot more
