Perfect Paw

I have been bringing my dog to be groomed at the Perfect Paw, once a month for about 7 years. When the incident last year occurred where a dog in their care was able to get out of their storefront through two doors and died when it got hit by a car on the busy road they are situated on, I was concerned. I discussed this with them and they assured me that the problem that caused the incident was rectified and that their place was very safe. I continued to take my dog there until now when I discovered that this was not the case. Last week a friend took her dog to be groomed and to her amazement the groomer opened the inner door (where the dogs are kept and her dog came running out with no leash or collar and ran directly over to the outer door. If anyone had opened the door, the dog would have run out into traffic as in the incident of last year. I have been going there for the past 3 years. It is always clean. Everyone is always very friendly. Their prices are great and they always do a great job, Thank you and I will continue to bring my dog to be groomed here. more

I am sorry to hear what happened to their dog below but we all know accidents happen. They have been wonderful to me and to my dogs. I appreciate them and how often they have accommodated me when i needed a last minute appt. They have been great and I personally will continue to use them. more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!! My friend shared with me what happened to their dog on 9-8-2010. They dropped their dog Cody off thinking that their dog was safe only to get a call 1 hour later to learn that Cody's cage was left unlocked/open and somehow got through 2 doors unnoticed and onto Hempstead Tpke where he was tragically struck and killed by a car. Sheer negligence!! My friends are devestated to say the least. How does something like this happen???! Everyone should be aware of this as this could very well be their beloved dog. Being a dog lover myself I know I will not play russian roulette with mine at this shop. If you have any questions regarding this post simply ask the owner of Perfect Paw about what happen to Cody. We have been going to Perfect Paw for about a year now and their groomer messd up our two dogs haircuts. We asked what happened and were told the groomer made a mistake. This was after we had already paid the bill. We asked if they could compensate us for the groomers mistake and said that was ridiculous. We said we felt we should be compensated in some way but they walked away. Also they cut and wounded one of our two dogs between his tows Please do not do business with these folks. I've used Perfect Paw for years now. My dog loves them. The staff are friendly and wonderful to deal with. In fact, I have since moved off of Long Island and whenever I am visiting I try to schedule an appointment for my dog. None of the groomers locally do nearly as good a job and the price is right! Pros: Great Work, Great Prices, Never had a problem getting an appointment. Cons: I moved away! more

i went into the shop and was pleased at how clean it was.The staff was very knowledgable about their profession.They answered all of my questions.i felt like my dog was part of their family.The dog was so happy to go back the next time.I think the prices were very good.they offer alot of services and carry a large selection of dog products.
