We were in the Lloyd district on business and stopped by this place on a whim. It was incredible, I had the BUTTERNUT SQUASH-GORGONZOLA RAVIOLI and I can honestly say it is the b...

Worst

It's nice and the food is good, but charging for bread?? How hard up are they to make a buck? This just seems wrong.

We visited this location based on the ratings in this site. We were not disappointed. the food was good the wine good, seated quickly. and best of all dinner was 20.00 with tip (for 2) Pros: Friendly, inexpensive, good food Cons: parking more

Best Italian Food in Portland 2/5/2003

I consider Pastini Pastaria the best place to get Italian food in the city. All my friends rave about it, the food is to die for, the prices are outrageously low, and eveyone who works there is good natured a courteus. Five stars. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Food, Good Service Cons: Crowded, Bad Parking more

Great feel 1/31/2003

Great food but I thought a salad or soup should be included with the entree. Pros: Selection more

Smoke and Mirrors 1/4/2003

My daughter and I decided to try Pastini at their new location. We were quite impressed with the decor and the friendly service. Unfortunately, behind this facade we found that the food was not up to the same standard. Both the fettuccine alfredo and rigatoni bolognese lacked flavor. I realize that the concept is to offer pasta at a reasonable price. But at what price? My suggestion would be to raise the quality of the food to match the decor and service more

wonderful!!! 12/25/2002

they have a butternut squash pasta plate that is to die for Pros: great food, price is good, full bar Cons: small, waiting more

Dem dere pasta 12/25/2002

I agree, Very good food for bargain prices. The pastas were splendid. more

Overrated! 12/20/2002

I was surprised to see so many ""10"" ratings, especially from earlier, so my high expectations were muted somewhat when the food hit the taste buds and my other senses absorbed the surroundings. This is not to say that the food was bad or the dining experience was regrettable, but rather I think some reviews just had a little too much wine :D Levity aside, the place packed a good crowed even during a weekday and the chatter level was quite high. The food was very enjoyable and the service was good, despite the busyness. Pros: Tasty food Cons: Crowdy more

Night out with 40yr old cuz 11/26/2002

""Loud, bustling and sauted garlic in oil. An environment in which long lost family can get to know you through reminicent stories and amusing jokes. All the while enjoying a variety of tantalizing entres all under ten dollars."" -Abe A. Pros: cheap, great value, good alcohol selectio Cons: breezy chily door more

Crowded? Noisy? Great! 11/9/2002

A great place to go out on the cheap for good pasta. I try to go at least once a week and I'm never dissapointed. Consistent quality, service and food. If you don't mind a crowded and noisy resturaunt, it's good stuff =). Note: Wait times are about 15-40 minutes on average, so bring a coat! Pros: Great Food, Excellent Service, The price is right! Cons: Crowded, Noisy more

Bring your earplugs 10/16/2002

The food was good and the price is right, but I have never been in a noisier restaurant. They have packed the maximum number of people in to a very small space and provided nothing that might absorb sound, the result is a painfull dining experiance. However if you are deaf and love Italian food, this could become your favorite restaurant. Cons: LOUD, CROWDED more

Pastini own my heart 9/24/2002

I ejoy the food and the atmosphere that this pasta resteraunt has. They have killer salads and the chicken sandwitch is to die for. It is not too expensive, but an amazing meal. The surrounding area is fun to walk around in as well. Pros: Food, Location, Price Cons: Parking more

WHAT VALUE? 9/5/2002

Sure it's convenient and who doesn't love pasta? But you have to wait forever for a table and whaddaya mean it's a great value? I think they're overpriced. Why should pasta be that expensive? Server was nice, though. Pros: good service, convenient, large portions Cons: not a good value!, crowded--tiny, may have long wait more

a delight within walking distance 9/3/2002

Close to home, and offers delectable food. Be prepared for lines most days. Also be prepared for pasta that is luscious and worth the wait. Cozy atmosphere, and good choices for dinner. It's best feature is that it's within walking distance of several northeast Portland neighborhoods. Try it, and you'll make it a favorite. Pros: small, good food, ambiance Cons: a bit of a wait more

sophisticated pasta 8/23/2002

we frequent this place at least twice a week....it is in our budget and we crave it, it is so good!!! Pros: Inexpensive, Quick Service Cons: uncomfortable Seating more

Crowded and LOUD! But good. 8/15/2002

I love the food but you have to be up to the squished sardine feeling unless you get one of the three booths. It's very difficult to make conversation as it is quite loud most of the time. I had to wait for fourty minutes one time to get a table. I wish they had a bigger space. The service has been excellent every time I've been there and the whole staff is very helpful. Pros: great salads, ice cream sandwich Cons: really noisy&crowded, hot, long wait for seating more

Craving Roasted Veggies 8/15/2002

This is definately the place to go for a roasted veggie sandwhich. Love this place for a great salad and sandwhich to share at lunch. more

What's an Eatery for? 8/12/2002

To taste something new and delicious! I'm impressed when I'm treated pleasantly, and taste a well thought out dish. Pastini does both well - so give Pasini a try if you want fantastic food for under ten dollars! more

threepete 8/5/2002

I can't stop thinking about the penne pasta with Italian sausge in the light cream tomato sauce! This is one of those dishes I get cravings for! Pros: Kid friendly, Date friendly! Cons: east side location more

Great Lunch Spot! 8/5/2002

I've been to Pastini a few times for dinner and happened to be in the area last week and decided to try it out for lunch. They were so prompt at getting my order ready, but the kicker is that not only is it fast, but is is delicious too! The gorgonzola tortellini with the fresh spinach folded in is wonderful. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Food more
