CEO & Founder, Jill Anwaar, CMP is a seasoned professional with a highly diverse portfolio within the meetings and events industry. Privileged to have worked for several hotel chains – Marriott, Sheraton, and Hilton; Jill scouted, secured and coordinated hundreds of events. At the close of her hospitality career, Jill Anwaar fused creative genius with her keen sense for business and launched Occasional Pearl Events, which name is inspired by her late mother, Pearl Taylor Morris. Time For A Change After several years in business, Jill’s hospitality and industry experience carried her to Silicon Valley, where she worked with the city’s destination management organization; Team San Jose, which is responsible managing the San Jose Convention Center and the city’s seven cultural venues. As Senior Event Service Manager, Jill managed the city’s complex events, which included events with attendance ranging from 500 – 5,000! Also, while in the Bay Area, Jill served on the Super Bowl 50th Host Committee’s Volunteer & Knowledge Transfer Sub-Committee; the committee responsible for recruiting and training 5,000 volunteers for the Big Game! Following which, Jill was asked to join the Super Bowl LI Halftime Show Field Team for the Big Game held in Houston, Texas. During this time, Jill worked along some of the industry’s greatest entertainers and production crews in the production of the Big Game’s Half Time show! Recently, upon returning to the east coast, Jill has had the pleasure of working with Keppler Speakers, a long-standing reputable speakers’ bureau located in the heart of Arlington, Virginia. As Senior Event Services Manager, Jill utilized her exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage the speaking engagements of exclusive speakers by enforcing contractual agreements and solidifying logistical details. Professional achievements include earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, as well as the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation issued by the Events Industry Council, that recognizes individuals who have achieved the industry’s highest standard of professionalism.
