A trip to Rochester is nothing without comsuming a garbage plate. I moved away from Rochester to Denver ... someone send me a garbage plate with 2 white hots PLEASE! From time to time, I speak about food that I used to love and miss (certainly not found in Denver). I just bring my curious friends to the website and show them what they are missing. Someone should open a Nick Tahoe's III here in Denver. more

Nick Tahous Home of the Garbage Plate 8/19/2005

If you're a native of Rochester, NY you know exactly were to go to get the best garbage plate in New York if not all of the US. Nick's is well known for the garbage plate but they also offer a wide arrange of other grills foods. I would recommend this place to a friend, expecially to someone who is out of town and is not familiar with Tahou's. more

Hot Doggies !! 8/17/2005

Let me be serious for a moment here. It's what American ingenuity is all about. Ideas like this will elevate the human race the next level. Allow me to explain why I'm so enamored with Hot Dogs. Having a weakness for corn dogs might not sound like much of an addiction but when you look at the number of places that actually serve corn dogs – let alone good corn dogs – your choices are extremely limited. more

Garbage Plate 8/14/2005

This is the home of the garbage plate. I dont like the location are the cleanliness of the place but the creater of the garbage plate need some respect. not as good as other area places but the food is quite good. The service can be hit or miss. Have been there when it was very good and quick. Have also been there when it was not very good. more

Garbage plates rock! 8/5/2005

Truly, truly a Rochester dining icon! Nick Tahoe's has been around forever as I know it. When I first arrived in Rochester, my co-worker's had a once a month tradition of visting Nick's for Garbage plate. What was I thinking with this? Everything piled in the middle? Cheeseburger, fries, mac salad, and what kind of hot sauce is that? Just grab the Red Hot dump away, then close your eyes and enjoy the edible fiesta. Gross? Oh yeah, but really, really good. There are lots of imitators around town but there is only one (actually 2 locations) Nick Tahoe's. Someday, I'll work up the nerve to try a breakfast garbage plate. more
