Based on the child's developmental needs for freedom within limits, the Montessori Method provides a carefully prepared environment that allows children to maximize their natural intelligence. Montessori materials give children purposeful, self-correcting work, allowing them to become self-sufficient, develop self-esteem, and gain valuable life skills. Respect for the child as an individual is a hallmark of the Montessori Method and one that we take seriously at Montessori Centres.

Founded in 1966, Montessori Centers is Indiana's oldest continuously run Montessori school. We work with each child individually to develop critical thinking and time management skills in a true Montessori environment. We stress peace and respect for all and, in keeping with the Montessori Method, use innovative techniques to resolve disputes and serve our community.

Our Montessori-certified lead teachers work with children at all levels, including gifted and other special needs students. We se rve children from age 2 1/2 through 3rd grade. Using materials and a classroom structure that allows children to be self-directed and work at their own pace, we offer a well-rounded education, including instruction in computers, French and Spanish, and art. Given the tools to view education as a lifelong process, our children leave us as independent, self-motivated people with an intense desire to continue learning.
