I also really like that they make follow-up phone calls a few days after she has medical procedures done outside of routine checkups, just to see how things are going at home and if I have any questions. more

I have been bringing 9/11/2014

I have been bringing my rabbit to Midwest Bird & Exotic Animal Hospital for six years and I honestly would not take her anywhere else for care. I haven't had any pets prior to my rabbit, let alone an "exotic" pet, and the doctors at Midwest that have treated her have not only provided what is in my opinion excellent care, but have also helped me to learn how to better care for her at home, without making me feel embarrassed for asking LOTS of questions. When my rabbit was younger I didn't visit them as often as I do now, but even then I felt like they remembered what was going on with her, and not just generically referencing her from notes. Now that she is getting older, and has more complicated issues, I always appreciate that the doctor and I can discuss whatever the problem may be with my rabbit, and can come up with plans of action to take so that when I get home I know exactly what I need to do to care for my "elder bunny". more

I am glad such a place exists to provide any help when Angel needs it. During my span with dealing with Midwest Hospital I have written other places in other states when I wanted to be able to save my parakeet that they ended up referring me back to the Midwest Hospital so that should tell you something indeed!!\r more

I had a wonderful experience . They were very caring and compassionate when my pet bird passed away. It died suddenly and I brought it in , to find out the cause of his passing. They sent me a beautiful card afterward and also gave me back the body in a beautifully decorated container. Very compassionate people. Looking at the negative comments written /posted this year....at least a few of them appear to be written by the same person....grow up please!... more

They see a 7/23/2014

They see a lot of animals and a lot of different kinds of owners. I can see where some feel they are pressured into certain procedures as this is the only place that can perform them. Their surgeons have a truly steady hand. I recommend them. more

The veterinarians 7/18/2014

The veterinarians took such good care of my prairie dog. They removed her front teeth after they began to grow up into her sinus cavity which seems to be common in these little guys. They did wonderful work. They were not cheap but they are efficient and care very much about the animals they treat. more

Sadly our dog 7/9/2014

Sadly our dog had internal bleeding when we rushed him here on a Sunday afternoon, and in the end we had to put him to sleep. The staff was kind and caring, presenting our options, bringing us blankets and oxygen for George, without charging for them. They were kind as we had to decide to pursue exploratory surgery or, based on his tests, put him down. We received a handwritten card in the mail from the vet expressing sadness for our loss. more

We ended up 7/3/2014

We ended up having to bring our new puppy here late one night after she started having a bad reaction to having eaten her food too fast. They got us in very quickly and had a diagnosis right away. They ended up having to "de-bloat" her. (Kind of funny in retrospect, very terrifying in the moment). Charges were high, but customary with late night emergency care. The front desk staff was very nice and the vet explained everything thoroughly. We had one very gassy baby to bring home with us, but thank goodness she was ok :) more
