This place is worth the half-hour drive for me and my bearded dragon. Dr. Chan is fantastic and very knowledgeable, and she really cares about my lizard's well-being. I love knowing that they have a 24-hour emergency hospital, if we ever need it. Very clean and friendly - it's nice to take your pet somewhere where you know someone's dog didn't just pee all over the place. more

This was the perfect place to bring my kitten for her shots. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The facility was beautiful and it smelled nice despite it being an animal hospital. The vet was very nice as well and took really good care of Sammy. We had a great visit here and I would recommend anyone to go here. more

I have been coming to Midwest Animal Hospital both through the E.R and as a regular patient for over 15 years and have always found your clerical, nursing, and doctors excellent. I drive over an hour and a half to get here and wouldn't consider taking my pets to any other facility. Thank you so much for being so great over the years more

On Sunday we arrived at the money pit around 5p.m. We were approached by person J. She talked and acted like a robot. No emotions at all. She stated that we see the Dr. in a half hour. An hour later she put us in a room. I left the room after 5 min. to use the restroom. I came back 2 min. later and my wife told me the .Dr. came in . My wife said she told the Dr. I would be back in a second,there was no reason to leave,but she left anyway. As we were waiting we could here her laughing with some staff. Finally Dr .D.P. came in. She acted like she was doing us a favor to see our bird Waldo. With no feeling she said ""your bird needs surgery to reconnect the lower leg and if it does not hold I will have to cut the leg off. "" I asked how much this would cost. She said she would get us a total. 20 min. later ""j"" came in and as usual read off the charges like a robot. Each surgery would require Waldo staying there over nite and each onewould cost $1000.I asked if they could somehow reduce thebill.Dr.D.P.did nothing. My wife and I looked at each other and said lets get out of this ........So we paid the bill of allmost $300 and left 3HOURS LATER. YES 3 HOURS. However there's a happy ending to my story. The next day we went to Millbrook Vet Hospital in Geneva. What a difference. The staff is wonderfull. We went in to see Dr. Dave and he is like an angel. He talked to Waldo played with him. The great thing was he examined him with us present. he called him by name.( Dr.D.P. treated Waldo like an it). Dr. Dave told us that he thought he could set the leg back into place. NO SURGERY. He was right. An hour later we were on our way home with Waldo. By the way the bill was only $250. So instead of paying $2000 and a bird with one leg, Waldo has his two legs and we saved $1750. WHERE DO WANT TO TAKE YOUR BIRD? Pros: Zero Cons: I don't have enough room to list all of it !!! more

Having visited this hospital on several occasions, I have come to the conclusion that there are no specialists here, unless you include Billing Specialists, which doesn't do your pet much good. Most recently our pet was seen by multiple vets whom within a 3 day period didn't seem to know what tests the other had even performed and even asked me what I thought the problem was.After getting multiple tests on the first visit totaling hundreds of dollars we were told it may just be a fluke. A few days later the same problem and then was told by yet another vet (this one actually seeming to know what He may be talking about) a litany of possible tests going into the thousands of dollars. We being concerned about our pet were disturbed to find a general lack of feeling and concern and felt more like we were being milked out of our money, expressed this during a follow up call and visit only to be terminated as a client and informed of this by a fancy letter. Be prepared to hand them almost 100 $ when you walk in the door and if its over night don't be surprised by a bill anywhere from 500 - 1000 dollars this is only to find out what the problem maybe or at least in my experience this has been the case with several pets dogs, cats and reptiles. You may wish to try Chicago Exotics for reptiles and Animal 911 for your dogs and cats etc. I am sure others maybe very pleased with this clinic but they will never have a good review from us their treatment of their clients is no better than their treatment of their clients pets/family which is sub-par at best.
