Wonderful food, unique atmosphere 12/4/2007

This is one of my favorite places to go for something different. It's a bit pricey but the overall meal is excellent. As with most Asian restaurants many of the servers are not good at answering questions but here at least some of them can. On two occasions the fried spring rolls were cold but they were replaced quickly when made aware of it. more

Poor Service and Food at Mamasans in Rochester NY 2/10/2007

My husband and I went to Mamasans for an early dinner on Friday night. I had never been there before and asked the server some questions. The manager came over and was curt with my husband. After dinner we asked the server about the desert menu, she could not explain it to us. Upon paying the tab we told the manager what happened, she told us we were ignorant ant that we should not come back. We thought the food was overpriced and that the management was rude and we will not come back. We later found out that the manager's mother is the owner. more

Overpriced Vietnamese 3/23/2006

A recent lunch at Mamasan's Monroe Ave location did not live up to my expectations. The food was fine, but you can eat just as well (or better) elsewhere in town for a better price. I felt like the decor of the restaurant was trying way too hard to be "edgy" and cool. Twisty metal seems to be their design scheme, and it got on my nerves for some reason. The portions are adequate, and the service was unremarkable. Overall, I wasn't impressed. more
