Love's Seafood Restaurant

- service...ok\r -overall the food was so so to very poor. Both the main dishes and the sides were not good. The steamed veggies we had looked like they should have been in the garbage.....brown with terrible taste...what happened to fresh food here???? For what we had and the big $$$$ it cost I would have been just as satisfied at McD's. 2 out of the 4 times we have been there its been very poor. ....doubt I will be going back. more

Thursday June 30 2011 on our way from NC to Fl we stopped in Savanna and ate dinner at Loves seafood. We both had the scored flounder and shared the calamari. Perfectly cooked and presented.Our waitress Ellen served us at the leisurely pace we requested. We were seated in the veranda overlooking the river. We will return next time we are in Savanna. more

Every time I drive by Loves Seafood there are always so many cars so I decided to try it last night. I was sat quickly and my server waited on me right away. The restaurant was very clean and had an amazing view of the Ogeechee River. I loved the scored flounder and the chocolate lava cake was to die for. more

I have been coming to Loves Seafood for many years and it has been consistantly good every time I go. The servers are very professional and personable. I love the fried seafood platter! more

Wow, I can not believe the reviews. Loves, you need to get your act together or do you not care? I have gone to you many times and NEVER had it like it was this time. But reading what others have said, i can see you do have a problem.\r We always eat outside and have had no problems, but this time everything was off, down to the food, servers and management. \r I love your crab balls, best in town, but they are NOT WORTH IT , if I have to have bad service and food. I guess you are making enough from those long lines of ONE TIME VISITS. more

NOT RECOMMENDED: We had a two week reservation for a party of 33 people.. after waiting for almost two hours we all left.. very bad management and the manager was rude to every one. Cons: BAD MANAGEMENT more

I am a local of Savannah and go to love's seafood quite often. Love's has a great atmosphere and view of the Ogeechee river. Meanwhile the food is exceptional, the cleanliness of the building meets my high standards, and the service is great. Sometimes you do have to wait a while for your food, but the great view and friendly atmosphere makes up for that. I highly recommend this resturaunt to everyone with a taste for seafood and steaks wether local or visiting. more

We live in Richmond Hill and eat @ Love's from time to time. It's a bit pricey to eat very often as a local, but when we do, we're not usually disappointed. My favorite items (I usually end up w/ the same thing every time) is the whole fried catfish ""all you can eat"" and the spinach side (you'll be surprised, it's very good). Although the catfish will have a somewhat muddy flavor sometimes (depends on where the fish came from I here), they're always cooked to perfection. If you're in the area, I'd also recommend Sunbury Crab Company. Geat location, just sit back and pick crabs before dinner. I think what Loves needs is Gordon Ramsey. With his expertise, this restaurant could turn around for the better. Otherwise, bury the key. more

Visiting from Wisconsin we thought we would try the seafood at Love's. By far this is the WORST restaurant we have ever been to. The service was awful, and the food beyond terrible. 45 minutes after placing our order the waitress came to tell us they were out of the catfish which 3 of us ordered. This shoud of been our clue to leave. We then re-ordered and the food came 40 minutes later. God awful. Was the worst crab stuffed shrimp you could ever imagine and it was soaking in some kind of liquid, soup? $92.00 for 4 people. We may as well of thrown a hundred dollar bill out the window. Crab cakes? They do NOT know how to cook. more

I would not recommend this place to a friend. We arrived at 7pm on Tuesday and were promptly seated. It went downhill from there. We placed our order and then waited about an hour for our food. Our dinner came before our salads, We watched as table after table of upset customers left the restaurant without even getting their dinners. When the table next to us asked to speak to the manager,I expected to see someone from the Love family as they really play the family involvement thing up in the menu. The person who came was not an owner and said he was working in the kitchen to help out. My previous experience with this restaurant was about 15 years ago,when it was smaller and people stood in line. At that time it was worth the wait. Now I doubt that I will come back again. My Son and granddaughters decided to go for a sunday dinner,I had been telling him about Love's for some time now....mind you, I haven't been to Love's in 4 years, but I was just wanting some good shrimp. I was not disappointed one bit...it was outstanding. My son got the surf and turf, and it was so good,(he's ready to go back again). My granddaughters had popcorn shrimp,(she couldn't finish it all) and my other granddaughter had a steak (this one is a pickey eater & trying to please her is worse than pulling teeth from a mule) and she really enjoyed her meal. Our waitress Holly, was absolutly the best. We're looking for a return trip. more

My husband and I were in Savannah to watch my daughter's college soccer team play in a tournament, I'm originally from Miami and love seafood. The hotel clerk recommended Love's, so we went. We had a great time, the service is friendly and relaxed. The food was execellent, the best hush puppies I've had in a while. I can see why its been around since 1949. I would highly recommend visiting Love's if you love seafood and a relaxed friendly atmosphere, it is truly southern. Pros: fun, relaxed more

Beautiful place, found out it has been family owned since 1949. It is on the river and also has outside dining. Not sure why they have it under french cuisine. The seafood was to die for and believe it or not my husband referred to the steak as the best he has had in Savannah. We tried the escargo also. Deliciously done in garlic butter topped with a pastry. Very busy on this Friday night, so we expected to have a little wait. The service was fine, the food was great. more

The nice location of this restaurant made it seem like a good idea- but it was not. The service was terrible. The food- sub-standard, actually awful. We had the escargot- the worst I have ever had- greasy and no flavor. Each snail was actually floating in grease! Beyond bad- Love's Seafood is actually the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at!
