Best

Conveyor belt style, good fresh sushi. Favorites include the Tuna Poki, decent prices.

First of all the sushi is pretty good I?ve been going to Kuru kuru for a while and never have had any problems before. But then recently I have had a bad experience not just once ...

Almost always worth the wait 6/3/2010

This place is the best place for sushi on Oahu, Genki doesn't even come close. Of course you can find really good sushi in the top shelf sushi and Japanese restaurants but you'll pay through the nose! Kuru Kuru on the other hand offers a wide selection and really good quality fresh products. In addition they offer the grinds that the Keiki's like too so there's something for everyone and you'll still get out the door with cash in your wallet! Pros: great sushi, great prices Cons: often a long wait more

Good food. Crappy manager 5/12/2010

First of all the sushi is pretty good I?ve been going to Kuru kuru for a while and never have had any problems before. But then recently I have had a bad experience not just once but twice. In January I went in and the manager was rude to my parents and I just because we asked if we could sit at a booth instead of the wooden chairs. An elderly couple who didn?t eat yet and just sat down offered to give a booth to us but the manager looked mad and didn?t approve of this and called the elderly couple stupid and was shaking his head. Well we had enough of his attitude do we just went to Genki sushi. The second incident happened 2 days ago, my friends and I totaling 6 came in and that same manager was there, we told we told him that we wanted a booth and he made us WAIT, even though there was an OPEN booth. He let a family of 3 the booth that came AFTER us even though they didn?t request to use the booth and they had less people. This manager irritates me, if it wasn?t for the cheap food I wouldn?t go there again. The manager should get FIRED. Clearly he lacks the managerial skills and even politeness when treating his customers. Pros: Spicy Tuna, Awesome Sushi Cons: Crappy Manager. Food 4 stars, Service NO stars more

Genki Sushi you now got to play catch up! 5/14/2009

This is my favorite conveyor belt sushi restaurant. The seafood is fresh and cut to a good size portion where it hangs over the rice. The perfectly cooked rice has a nice delicate sushi flavor just like it suppose to. The secret is when the waitresses come by to ask you what you want , no be shame, tell them. They are quick to please and this will guaranty you the freshest offerings. By the way, the best deal is the Chirashi Bowl but no tell everybody. So what's not to like? It is fricken crowded, usually from when it opens til closing so expect to wait. If you need the sushi fix but no can wait, call in for take out. Please leave a tip when you leave to say Mahalo to the hard working staff. Pros: Cheap good sushi. Cons: Parking is limited. more

Excellant Sushi, Good Price 1/16/2008

Kuru Kuru Sushi in Aiea is the best! It is Sushi on a conveyor belt and you choose what looks good and tasty. Everything that I have had has been fresh and tasty. You can pull a plate from the conveyor belt (you are charged by the color of the plates you collect) or you can order what you want if you don't see it. This is a place where the locals eat. I go regularly with my girlfriend and we rarely go over $20 for what would cost $200 at some of the places in Waikiki. There is no alcohol served, but you can bring your own beer or wine. The only negatives are that it packs people in so there is often a wait, and parking can be hard to find. Pros: Fresh and inexpensive Cons: Usually a line. Parking is tough. more

If you know your sushi, then this is the place! 1/13/2006

We lived in Japan for four years and became quite used to having fresh sushi whenever we wanted it, which was often. Kuru Kuru Sushi is the closest thing outside of Japan to that experience--we eat there regularly! Pros: Relatively cheap, Excellent Sushi, Food for everyone Cons: Sometimes a wait more
