I'm pretty computer savy and handle my own netoworking from a home office. Took my laptop to them and asked them for a rush on moving files from my old laptop and integrating them (outlook) to my new machine along with replacing the monitor, which was what caused my need to go there in the frist place. After offering me REPEATEDLY a monthly payment plan to service my home office, which I surredly passed on since I was there for a specific repair and don't need another monthly bill, he finally said he could replace the screen for 150 and bill me for the file transfer. Keep in mind he rushed to my home office to ""help"" my office RDP network and in the end told me to bring in both machines which is where we are later that day.
After I took both computers to them I was informed that i had a loose ac jack and that for a mere 250 more they could and should replace that also, which i admantly said NO to since the jack had been loose almost since the day I bought it. I picked up the new laptop a day later and was informed that the screen for my older laptop was on back order and would be two weeks or so to get in and replace. Long story short. I call to pick up my old laptop with a new screen and ask for the $ damages and after three calls they finally tell me I've got a bill for almost 700 dollars, which I flip at since I'd planed for a couple hours of labor and a 150 dollar replacement screen. Terry was polite enough to remind me at that point that, that was the original reason he ""offered"" me a monthly billing plan. He also at that time that they had replaced my AC jack. Talk about pissed. I told him never authorized that and that I had no intention of paying for at which point he said he'd ""take a look at the invoice and see what he could do"", also informing me that since the jack was hard-wired into the machine they couldn't remove it. The next day he calls and tells me they can knock off 75 bucks...
As of today I recieved a bill for 622.75 and they own a sony VAIO with a new screen and AC plug. I also called a local techie who RDP networked three laptops, an I-Pad 2, and a desktop pc in under an hour and billed me 70 bucks. Just because they have a storefront on a relatively busy street, doesn't mean they're the only show in town!
I agree totally with chrisnofear that ""They"", I use they since Terry owns the business, thinks they're the smartest thing since the lightbulb and will over bill and incinuate that you agreed to something you didn't at every opportunity.
If you have any questions as to wheather or not to use these guys for anything other than ""taking in your old dell"", you shouldn't.
I've been in sales my entire life and wouldn't have made it past my first year handling people like this....I guarantee karma will take effect shortly.
