When I hired Mr Kaufman for a forgery case he told me he was personal friends with the prosecutors and assured me of getting a bond reduction. When I appeared in court my bond reduction was denied. Mr Kaufman stated if I didn't like jail then I shouldn't have done what I did to get there. He discussed my case in length with an outside party, without my permission, and stated I was obviously guilty. He refused to meet with me to discuss further details of my case and threatened to indefinitely postpone my case unless he was given more money. When Mr Kaufman found out I went to the Judge over some of these matters he quickly withdrew from my case. He has refused to refund of my monies. more

This guy did my custody case and got it done super fast and I got everything I asked for that I could get! His prices were reasonable and cheaper than other places I talked to. Pros: null Cons: null more

Absolutely horrible lawyer. Completely screwed me over and got me a conviction over the most minor event imaginable, with me having no priors. I would have been better off just pleading guilty...and saving the $750 I paid him. He claimed to know the prosecutors, but then he blindsided me with "well, they want you to plead guilty, so just do it" as we were about to walk in to court. I foolishly followed his advice, as I was only about 19-20 at the time. I did not learn until later how poor of a job he had really done for me. More than 7 years later, I'm still haunted by the service that Kaufman gave me. I cannot recommend strongly enough against this man. If you have taken on this attourney, you should see if you can get a refund and keep your distance. Completely unprofessional and incompetent.
