Ripping off people 9/11/2011

I was Paying J.R. Brothers to pay off a Doctor's Bill. The last py.ment was $65.00, so I sent it. They sent it back with punched holes in it and said I owe a $25.00 fee for a return check. This would have paid me in full ,but i guess they just want more money. They are not going to get it for I will take the money to the Dr. myself.. Plus the man who kept calling here was rude and it sounded like threats when he talked. Watch out for them and keep a copy each time you send them money,I did. \r Puddies more

Violated Several FDCPA laws - Reported to FTC, BBB & AZAG 8/17/2011

No wonder no one at the company will give you their last names. Robin, the ""manager"" is a psycho, Craig needs to be medicated and the receptionist, who is a moron, actually said ""I dont know my boss' last name"". Horrible. This isnt even my debt, and they fully disclosed ALL information to me. I filed a complaint with the FTC, BBB and Attorney General. Here are the websites if you'd like to file also: www.bbb. org www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en www.azag.gov Click on the top of the page under Consmer and then Consmer Complaints. Here is the complaint I filed and my experience with the company: I was contacted in June by J&R Brothers about a 2010 medical bill of my ex-husbands. I explained that we had been divorced since 2005 years and that it was not my obligation. The agent stated that if I provided my ex-husband's mothers phone number that he would remove me from his account. He also fully disclosed the nature of the call, the amount, date and due party for the medical bill after I disclosed that I was not married when the bill occurred. This is a direct violation of FDCPA guidelines. After providing the agent with my ex's mothers cell number, he stated I'd be removed from the account. Two months later I was to close on a home I was purchasing for myself and my children and J&R Brothers had placed a collection account on my credit which threw off my debt to income ratios. I immediately called J&R Brothers and was prompted to leave and after-hours message. I waited 4 days with no return phone call and called again and was prompted to leave a second message. I received a call the following day and explained the situation to the agent. He placed me on hold, returned, and demanded that I fax over a copy of the divorce decree. I explained that it would be on file in the same place that he found my name in the first place. I tried to explain that all of my documentation is in boxes since we were in the process of moving. He said ""do you want the fax number or not"" I stated no, because - and he hung up on me. I called back and spoke to his manager, Robin. She proceeded to shout at me, tell me I was rude for not listening and hung up on me. I called back to explain to her that its not that I don't want to provide the document, I simply do not have access. I also explained that it was against FDCPA guidelines for her to report this on my credit or to even discuss the account with me. She raised her voice again and said she was not going to speak with me and that I can fax it over or deal with it. I asked her where she found my name and she stated that she didn't know and wasn't going to pull the file to find out. I let her know again that I do not have access to the document and that legally I??a??E?m under no obligation to produce it. She hung up on me. I called back again and she picked up the phone and shouted, ""I??a??E?m not talking to you!"" and hung up again. I called back and more

Positively Deplorable People 4/19/2011

I had a small leasing company in Hollywood thirty years ago and I also handled the occasional collections. My clients were invaluable to me, so when they got into trouble once and awhile, I was overtly polite and worked with them. It makes good business sense and this is how you generate your most valuable asset of all: repeat business. Not so with J.R. Brothers Financial, Inc.\r \r I just got off the phone with one of their agents(?) who returned a telephone call voice-mail message that I had left earlier for another individual I had dealt with earlier---one of the ""polite ones"". I attempted a return call afterward on numerous occasions and the line was constantly busy. It was a no-go. Her Rudery must have been terribly busy cajoling dead flies from blind spiders. Substituting brass for brains, her stabs at diplomacy ultimately wound up in my thoracic vertebrae.\r \r The individual who called me back (not the one I called) was abominably rude, abrupt, crass, inconsiderate, positively refused to re-identify herself, constantly interrupted me, continuously complained that she ""couldn't hear me"", owing to my current bout of influenza, and displayed thoroughly atrocious telephone manners just before hanging up on me, and then threatening to remand my file over to their counsel. Moreover, this agent also threatened to place a derogatory remark on my credit report. I am financing a home at the moment and this would severely damage me and cause me to seek both relief and remedies in open court.\r \r Throughout my thirty-eight years in the workforce, I have also been an employer on numerous occasions. If she was working for me, she wouldn't be; I would have terminated her employment long ago. She belongs in neither an office environment nor customer service, nor dealing with the public at large. I would very seriously recommend that they place her elsewhere and away from other humans. \r \r I have traveled the world building oil refineries for both American and foreign clients; however, I have never encountered such unprofessional, unprincipled and totally disrespectful behavior in my entire professional life. She needs to learn some simple manners and common couth. Her overt misbehavior to me was totally unacceptable.\r \r Again, and to iterate, the woman who telephoned me representing J.R. Brothers Financial, Inc., needs to be immediately and severely both reprimanded and placed on company probation for unprofessional corporate conduct—or, simply, terminated. I would have summarily terminated this individual's gainful employment with J.R. Brothers Financial, Inc. immediately and simply to both avoid civil litigation and to have made a horrible example of her to others.\r \r My one-star rating above is to critically rate J.R. Brothers Financial, Inc., as one of the positively WORST companies I have ever dealt with. They need to be put out of business by the State. These guys are crooks.\r \r I have copied this correspondence to the Arizona State AG's office.\r \r UPDATE FOR EVERYONE AS OF 10:19 PM APRIL 19, 2011\r \r Text of Complaint filed with Arizona Attorney General:\r \r ""This is a broad-based consumer complaint to the Arizona State Attorney General against J.R. Brothers Financial, Inc., involving J.R. Brothers as a Phoenix-based collection agency; and the nature of this complaint revolves around egregious collection agency abuse, offensive language, misconduct, threatening behavior and language, potential damage to victims in the form of credit report damage, threats of liens against real property, patent unprofessionalism, disparaging personal attacks and impertinence, telephone patient abuse, uncoöperative manner and behavior, and possible violations of Federal Collection Laws.\r \r ""Corroborative documentation attached."" more

JERKS!!!!!!!!! 4/7/2011

i wish there was a rating to say these people SUCK!~\r \r \r These people are RUDE JERKS. I cannot believe the way I was treated just now on the phone. I called them wanting to take care of a debt. They wouldnt let me take care of it unless i paid it all at once. I offered to make payments, as my husband is unemployed right now. I explained that I am not able to pay more than 20 dollars every 2 weeks when I get paid. I was told it is ridiculous that I even have this debt and have had it as long as I have. ( I had numerous bills from a complicated pregnancy - this one must have fallen through the cracks) \r after bing told how ridiculous my debt is, I asked to be transferred to a manager. Curtis laughed and said ""Good luck with that- I am the manager!"" Then he hung up on me. i called back to make a complaint and Robin treated me exactly them same way. \r I am horrified that these A-holes think it is okay to treat people this way. they can take my debt and stick it. more

UnProfessional/ Rude/ violates collection laws 1/18/2011

Hello and I must agree with others about J R Brothers financial Inc. they should be very careful regarding the law as the employees violate Federal Collection Laws on a daily basis. I am on disability and have no medical insurance so I must pay cash. I had, had insurance and apparently I owe a small amount of money less than a hundred dollars, so I was called by J. R employees whom advised me if I don't pay it they will put a lien on my house, and told me I have no business having a cell phone, it's none of their business regarding a cell phone or whom pays for it. I have been hung up on, one employee answered the phone "" Hello Doc""? now thats professional!! I have advised my doctors office of how difficult it is to even speak with this company. I am also reporting again to the Attorney General's Office, they are not allowed by law to threaten anyone and should they tell you they are taking you to court, placing a lein on your home, or whatever they must be prepared to do so, not just blow off hot air, harrass, and cuss at people. I will pay the doctor's office however I will not send one red cent of my disability money to J.R Brothers I am still waiting for the lein on my house, oh by the way I don't own a house. I suggest they do a little homework about the people they hire as representation is crucial to the success of any business. more

Business owners: don't hire this company 1/11/2010

Sometimes it's necessary to hire a collection agency. But this one is AWFUL and will make you and your business look rude, unprofessional and arrogant. As a result of the experience with J.R. Bros. (for a medical bill we DON'T owe), we will not be going back to the doctor's office. We worked with the doctor's office to get the bill resolved with the insurance company for more than a year. They sent us to these goons. Chris, the so-called professional at J.R. Bros., was arrogant, rude and unhelpful. We are not deadbeats and resent being treated as such. Stay away from these creeps. Pros: None--if I could put zero stars, I would. Cons: Rudeness, arrogance, attitude more

JR BROTHERS are very UNPROFESSIONAL 12/1/2009

These people are the Worst!! This man hung up the phone on me 3 times when I was only asking him for the reason for his call. The first time he called my sister said he asked her Why she was answering my phone?? I figured I would call him back then he asked me a bunch on dumb questions such as Why I did not have a job?? This was all before telling me the what I needed to do about this ""BILL"", which I never recall receiving. \r \r These people are rude and hateful. They have no RESPECT and should be SHUT DOWN!! I even asked the Prejudice man to send me the bill so I could take care of it and he said NO!! and then said that I should have my attorney call his office. The Bill cost less than an attorney does!!! \r \r I truly hope something could be done to these bunch of rude people, they are unfair, and very disrespectful! more

Unlawful and unfair collection practices by JR Brothers financial 9/23/2008

I don't think they are reputable at all! I too have been harrassed and treated unfairly by this joke of a company! They are horrible and use unlawful practices. I can't believe that businesses will even have their names associated with this company by hiring them.\r \r If they are harassing you unlawfully too, document everything and contact your attorney generals office and the FTC. File a report against them. Eventually, if enough people that have been treated unfairly come forward they will have to investigate. Cons: Rude, unlawful collection practices. Unethical more

Even a respected company such as this breaks the rules! What a shame! How un-ethical! 8/29/2008

I was recently contacted by J.R. Financial in refference to a debt owed for a local medical office. By recently I mean Today August 29th 2008. On my cell phone. I was told about the debt, the amount of the debt, where it originated, why the debt was placed with J.R. Financial Collections.Who the debtor is. I was also told about the conversation that was recorded and that had taken place the afternoon before. The employees name that had spoken with me was Robin and she stated that she has been in the collections field for twenty years. That's impressive! \r \r The problem here was that the debt wasn't mine. It is supposidly my girlfriends! Not wife! Girlfiend! \r No I did not co-sign for this loan or debt. In fact it was incurred before we even started dating. I was never asked her social security number, for powerof attorney or to verify my identity in any way! This is against the law and the fair credit act. \r \r I would not advise using this company for your business. \r I would advise J.R. Brothers Financial to put Robin with 20 yrs. collection experiance in check!\r As well I would advise J.R. Brothers Financial to not threaten, harrass or do anything illegal or un ethical to the daughter of the man who is an is a well known and respected owner of a Law Firm as well as a very good attorney. With allot more than 20 yrs. experience. \r \r Not a good move on J.R. Financials part. \r \r My name is Charlie and this report was written by me personally. I will verify my identity and back up my statement to anyone. Thank you for reading my true statement and telling of my personal experience.\r \r Charlie more
