Just Depends 2/10/2009

I think Impressions is a really good place. They do have pretty much whatever you need. I worked there a short time. The owner and I didn't gee ha. (I am sure she thought I was NUTS. I had terrible problems remembering things. Turned out thyroid was haywire. )My only concern in that time was when in the alterations area I saw a book titled how to alter a wedding dress. Judy is a smart lady and yes sometimes she did seem a bit uppity, but she really tries to make sure things are right. One of the other girls that worked there was extremely snotty and dopey, I caught the blame for lots of her mistakes. But all in all, I would have to give her an 8 of 10. I would still recommend Impressions and have since working there. Yes the space is small, but seems a bit romantic and cozy when buying your wedding gown. A little like being home. My final words would be go and see for yourself, sometimes people just don't click. Some people have a chip on their shoulder when they walk in a store. I have worked retail for 25 years and have seen it. So don't be afraid to try Impressions. Pros: coziness Cons: little pricy, but original gowns cost more

A pleasant experience!!! 7/1/2008

I was so pleased to have stumbled on to this place. After having several bad experiences with snobbish sales staff & owners at other bridal salons, these ladies were a breath of fresh air. They are extremely friendly & accomodating and truly understand that not every bride-to-be has an unlimited budget to spend and for those that do, they can accomodate them as well. Not only did I find my dress & shoes there, but I also found my bridesmaid's dress and my invitations. more

I Was The Bride...for 4/19/08 5/2/2008

Okay this is what I know of MY DREAM DAY! Yes there were a few hiccups with the tuxes however the owner did everthing in her power to fix what she could...My father did have to go back a couple of times but in the end the only thing that was difficult was the fastner (?) on the side keet slipping. Yes the ring bearers tux didn't fit...but NO ONE blamed the owner, I called to let her know and she was very sorry however it was the day of the Wedding and there wasn't anything that could have been done. So my aunt went and bought him a little one piece Johnny Suit which I really liked in the end. The Jr Groomsmens tux was a little big but I was there at the fitting and at my wedding and I thought he looked soooo cute... and so did the groom. The bestman had to have a button fixed which they did at the fitting and then his tux was fine also. The groom had no problems with his tux. As for my father in law he didn't go for a fitting and as far as I know didn't put the tux on until the day of the wedding and the owner had told the groom and I if they would just make sure that everything fit by friday she could have gone herself to pick up replacements which is why we told EVERYONE to make it to a fitting. Now as for my GOWN I thought it was WONDERFUL! I did have to try the gown on 3 times but that was for alteration purposes. The gown was STRAPLESS so I don't know of any woman that wouldn't have pulled up on it a few times-at NO TIME did I feel like I was going to fall out, it was just as I sat down and stood up it would shift a little and from time to time people would accidentally step on it so that wasn't helping either. We also got the Maid of Honor dress at Impressions and the shoes that they dyed to match PREFECTLYand she LOOKED GREAT!!!So about the previous message that was left about MY WEDDING-yes there was a few hiccups but that would in no way stop me from going back to this store. Nor should it stop anyone else from going there! more

What a horrible wedding experience. 4/29/2008

One of my twin sons wedding was 4-19-08. The staff is rude. The owner needs to get out of the business, because she is rude and not does not have the consumer first, who feds her and puts a roof over her head. The store is an old house and way to little for her inventory, does not have enough or large enough space to try clothing on. The ring bearer tux did not fit, so his parents had to rush over to Concord Mills to Strasburg Children and purchase him a white onsie. They where from out of town and he had been measured at another bridal shop and the measurements where sent to Impressions. My husband, the groom's father was measured in the store and when he put his tux on for the wedding, the neck of the shirt was not big enough and his pants where 2 sizes too big, AND YES HE WAS MEASURED IN THE STORE BY THEIR PROFESSIONALS ,HA-HA. The Jr. Groom my grandson, his shirt was too big, his vest kept coming un-done in the back ,the metal closure would not stay closed. He also was measured in the store and even went and tried his own in the store. His mother my daughter pointed out the shirt and vest and the response she got was that was the best they could do. Please at $ 65 for a 5 yr. and THAT IS THE BEST YOU CAN DO! Oh by the way, we where given a lower quoted price for all the tux rentals and then when we went to get fitted and pick them up, the price was higher. Now on to the bride's father's tux, he went for 3 fittings and had to settle for a jacket that was still too big for him and his pants where way to short. Ever heard about ""High Water"" pants, well that is the way his was. Last but not least, the bride's gown. She had 3 fittings and alterations and still the strapless gown did not fit her correctly in the breast. She kept having to pull it up and at one point I thought she might become topless. When I took the tux 's back and complained, all that came out of their mouths were smart A-- remarks. They managed to ruin what was suppose to be a VERY SPECIAL DAY. Cons: Never use this store for any of your DREAMS!!! more

Alteration dept is horrible. 4/14/2008

Bought my daughter's prom dress from them upon having the first fitting brought up 4 issues with the dress. The neck was to lose. The butt area was way to tight. There was beading missing. And we wanted a 1 inch strap placed betwwen the bust in the v-neckline. Assured not to worry it would be done. Was told they can take out both sides to give her more room in the butt area. Paid for the dress and alterations. Came back second time to pick up dress. Bead work still hadn't been done. And the strap had not been placed. Seamstress thought we wanted a whole privacy panel even though receipt says 1 inch strap across. They said they would fix it came back third time and the neck was cut way to short was very tight because the seamstress cut from the neck to make the strap which was to long. She didn't even put hooks to attach the latches to just tread was their and it was coming apart. Told i to speak with the owner who was not available till Monday my daughter's senior prom was Saturday. 24 hrs away. Left had another store fix the mess they created. When i tried to collect the money I paid them for the alterations they screwed up. They owner tried to tell me i didn't give them the opportunity to fix the dress they had three chances. Then she only wanted to refund me the money i paid the other store which was alot less then what they charged and a hell of a better job. Also my daughter's dress split in the butt area at her prom because it was not taken out enough. and we did not have enough time for the other store to fix that issue. By the way another customer came in to complain also about alterations while i was there. Judy the owner threatened to call the cops when another customer asked about the alterations and i proceeded to tell her and give her a card of the store i went to have the dress fixed at. The owner is very nasty and reluctant to make good by their mistakes. Honestly how many chances are you supposed to give a place before enough is enough. Pros: Nice selection of dresses but if you google the designer you can pick the dress up at other locations. Cons: seamstress work horrible, Owner is nasty and does not take customer satifaction highly enough. Fight to get your money you do deserve back. more

I purchased a wedding gown at Impressions Bridal & Prom and want to take time to thank them for such a wonderful experience! I found the dress of my dreams and had the best experience. I reccomend them highly! We had gone to many other shops locally and found Impression in Concord to be the most Bridal friendly shop. We were greated with smiling faces and possative attitudes. Pros: Excellant service, shop is well maintained Cons: Need more stores like them.. more

Personal & Polite Family Oriented Care 2/22/2008

Planning a wedding is stressful enough - but these ladies made working with fittings and bridesmaid dresses perfect with ease. I could not have asked for more. Thanks ladies! ;-) Pros: Personal & Professional Care more

Poor Business 2/17/2008

I purchased a gown for my daughter's pagenant that did not have the straps attached or all the beads. They basically cheated me because they got my daughter along in the dressing room and talked her into it without me there. When I got home, I realized they marked 'no return' on the receipt! Cheaters! more
