I had been seeing Dr. Hua for 3 yrs for ulcertive colitis & I'm in remission & feel the doctors medical decisions were correct & accuarate. My low rating for Dr. Hua is due to what I feel is a concerning bedside manner. When first diagnosed, she told me I was the sickest girl she had ever seen & I should find a surgeon to have my colon removed. This scared me tremendously & I spent the better part of the next 2 days crying. Although, I have been in remission, she told me my insurance company requires that I see her every time I go in for my infusions. This is every 8 weeks & I have a copayment. I called my ins. co., & they told my they DO NOT require a visit. Also, to this day, she can't remember my name & has insulted my decision to maintain a gluten free diet. She forgets that I had my tubes tied when I was young & asks me every appt if I could be pregnant. When I remind her, she has told me ""You're so stupid."" I would not recommend Dr. Hua if a pleasant bedside manner is important to you. I will be filing a complaint with the California Medical Board. Good luck to everyone.
