I had a terrible experiance with this company. A young man named ""Skip"" came to my home for a toilet backing up. Before I knew it he was telling me I needed a ""Pipe liner"" for $10,000!!. I had another plumbing company come in for a second opinion. They cleaned my pipe and put a little camera inside. Turns out there are no significant problem. The drain cleaning cost me $99 and it has been fine ever since. I was so disturbed by this young man ""Skip's"" persistance telling me if I did not put this pipe liner thing in my sewer pipe may collapse and they would have to dig inside my house to fix it. I then started to receive calls from Skip's supervisor. I felt very pressured by both of these young men that i called the BBB to lodge a complaint. Turns out this is a very big SCAM going on in this area. Always get a second opinion. more

I dont understand how this company has 78 positive reviews 11/20/2011

I am betting the other reviews are fake based on my experience but maybe I am just really unlucky with them. All went bad for us when we needed horizon most. We had a plumber for horizon out to look at a pump we have running from a basement bathroom to an outside pump that runs to the main sewer line. The plumber had no idea what to do. He messed with some settings on the electrical box and left with our manual for the pump saying he needed to do more research. A week later we still hadnt heard back. I called. They said they would have to contact the individual plumber. While I was waiting something horribly went wrong with the main pump and sewage flooded my basement. I called Horizon to come out. This was Friday evening. They said they could not send someone until Sunday the following day. Keep in mind my basement is flooded with sewage. I thought the service contract I was paying was so they would be available. When they arrived on saturday (this time a different plumber) he had no idea what to do. Saying he would contact the previous plumber and get back to me on MONDAY! Not only is that unacceptable but no one even called back on Monday. So I brought someone else in to fix the pump outside and help with the flooded basement. After numerous calls to the Horizon Service department I finally was able to talk to someone. They informed me they lost my pump manual and would cancel my contract. So you pay an annual fee, they come to your house, possible cause more problems but at the very least cant solve the problem and now they want out. This was a couple weeks ago. So what prompted me to speak out and write the review? Friday they charged me my annual service contract despite me canceling it and them being unable to solve my problems. So now I am out almost $9000 for all these problems and they are trying to charge me $170 more? Amazing. Horrible company. Stay away. more

The Horizon team was great 8/8/2011

At the time of the video assessment (April 25, 2011), it was determined there were two major issues in our sewer line; the cast iron pipe was broken at the foundation and separated from the house, and there was a “belly” in the line as it moved toward the main sewer line under the street. Work began on April 28th. The Horizon team was great. Because the weather forecast was predicting severe storms, the team decided to first focus on “getting us flowing,” and replaced the pipe in the crawl space to the level of our first clean out. When the storms began, we had to reschedule a time for Horizon to complete the work. The team returned on May 3rd to complete the job. We can't say enough about the Horizon team who came to our home (Jim, Timmy, David, and Adam). They were terrific! more

The technician was phenomenal and helped to trouble shoot the reason why the air conditioner doesn't cycle on and off. He took the time to explain that the thermostat was under the vent to the whole house fan; therefore, the hot air was coming down from the attic and affecting the thermostat so the system continued to run and was not turning on and off intermitently. I covered the vent with plastic as he suggested and the problem is resolved. I have been frustrated with this problem for two years and had addressed it with the company that installed our system with no resolution. I will call upon Horizon Services for any heating/air conditioning services in the future. more
