I have lived 37 years of my adult life in South Anchorage (upper O'Malley/ Old Seward) and my extended family are avid pet lovers with a long history of beloved pets, many now long gone. We used a variety of the clinics in South Anchorage over the years. In the end Jack Tuomi and his clinic is the Vet of our choice. Anyone who works in his clinic is competent. Tuomi is a thorough man, nothing has ever "slipped through" the cracks with unfortunate misdiagnoses (yes, it happened to our family twice) or dismissive "that's normal" type responses. He does a good job. (Not saying mistakes can't happen - just think he's very thorough so we've never had a complaint.) One time, we also suddenly arrived at his office with a gigantic beautiful goose in the winter, one we saved from the inlet. Tuomi didnt flinch an eye - took it in and helped us get the right help for the canadian goose. \r

Another good clinic is the one about a 1/4 - 1/2 mile further south down the same road (Old Seward Highway)
