BAIT-n-SWITCH: significant tricks abound amounting to lies and a BBB report 9/30/2012

Wish you could select zero-star. WATCH OUT FOR THE BAIT-n-SWITCH! We used several pricing services to determine highest price we'd pay. We test drove 4w drive 12 accord. Ubiquitous "sales manager" brought out pre-coordinated USAA price and showed we were paying less than even that price AND only models he had had all these extras put in by the company. We drove home the same color car we had test drove, parked where we left it. HENDRICKS had switched the cars-showing us the window sticker, where I had checked off the key components, from another car. We wound up driving home a FWD. HENDRICKS blamed us for not being clear and more careful. Do this a coupla more times and they are out of business. Although this makes me look like I was taken (and I was), I have told everyone I know. I will never buy a HONDA again. more

THIS DEALER LIES TO ITS CUSTOMERS 5/8/2012

THIS DEALER LIES TO ITS CUSTOMERS. In December 2011 I serviced my car at Hendrick Honda, at which time they told me that I needed to replace my power steering fluid. I declined the service and ended up getting it done at another mechanic a few days later for half the price. This past week (6 months later), I brought in my car for an oil change. They called to tell me that the power steering fluid needed to be replaced again because it was really dirty. When I told them that I had it replaced it a few months ago somewhere else, they sounded surprised and told me 'they must have done a bad job.' I was skeptical and told them to not change it. Once I picked up my car, I took it to the other mechanic who changed my power steering fluid. He showed me my fluid and fluid from a brand new container; they were the exact same. Hendrick Honda just saw that I had declined the service earlier and brought it up again, despite the fact that I clearly didn't need it. They lie to their customers. I wil more

It's unfortunate that many of the people who rated Hendrick unfavorably don't really know what goes on behind closed doors. There are some who try to meet a sales quota, there are some who don't do a good job and there are some who could care less but you cannot rate all the employees there using the experience you had with one. As far as the lady who was pregnant, there are vending machines as well as free coffee and tea in the waiting room and free popcorn. Some mechanics "hang parts" but a lot do not in fact if you ask there are some great there mechanics with a lot of experience and schooling (Honda School)! A lot of owners neglect their cars and when you take it to the dealership they are giving you the best case scenario of what is going on. So you only went in for a noise but were educated that your tires also need replacing, a choice you have. When you pay for something also remember the pricing was set by management and not the mechanics. The mechanics fix your cars, th more

Honda - Quality once... not anymore 12/31/2010

Be very careful when you take your 3 year old car or older here for service. They will provide you a list of "suggestions" that will add up to $500 or more each time you go there for just about anything. Most recent was telling me I had a nail in my tire and it had to be replaced. Immediately went to Costco where I bought the tires and they removed the nail that had not punctured the tire. I was told last time that I needed seals. Went to another mechanic who laughed and said my seals were fine and that they must need some service $$$ at Honda. I could go on. I no longer trust this dealership when they tell me something needs service. I am starting to think that the mechanics have a $$$ quota per day and look for whatever they can to pull your dollars out of your wallet. A shame, I bought four cars from these people and they have seen the last of me. My wife's Accord had two transmissions go bad, Honda paid for one and told us after 75,000 miles that we are on our own for th more

unproffentional 6/30/2010

I be honest with you I never seen this type of dealership in my entire life. They SUCK so bad nobody knows what the hill is going on the service department everyone is on Crack. They have hired couple of bimbo's that have no car business experience and does not know what the hill is going on. It seems that they are high all the time. I took serveral cars there they tell me one thing when the car gets there if course it is a different story. When I call back to speak to someone these gril's (Star) and (Amber) in service department put you on hold for ever to find a crack head service advisor. Please do not do any business with these people they are only good for one thing making emty promisses that's all. The entire dealer SUCK. more

Worst Customer Service 6/22/2010

My car was taken in for service a few weeks ago for a noise. The service advisor said they would do diagnostics to find out the problem-they found the issue, they fixed it, no problem. Yesterday, my car does not start at all and at first I think it's the battery. I call the service department and once I reach a service advisor, I ask what "diagnostics" includes?? Does it include testing the battery? He begins talking to me as if I'm a child. He states there is no way to test a battery, he's been doing this since 1985 and they just go sometimes like lightbulbs. There most certainly is a battery tester and any good one can be purchased at any auto store for $60-70! I repeated my question again asking if my battery was tested at the last service appointment or not. The advisor starts yelling at me giving me the example of my "kitchen lightbulb" going out. I politely asked to not speak to me in that tone. He then hangs up on me!! Wow, what customer service. I leave a message for the servic more

If you value your time, go elsewhere 5/3/2010

Do not get your car serviced here unless you looooove to wait!!! I made an appointment for 9am and dropped the car off to get a noise checked out, called at 12:30 to check on progress because my husband had to go to work, car just getting checked out. My husband dropped me off at 1:00 and I let them know I was there waiting at 2:30 our "service advisor" Kristi came back to tell me what they had found, new module for keys(under warranty), new brake pads (under warranty), and new rotors (not under warranty) $195. I declined the rotors because dealers are overpriced for service. Kristi told me my car should be done in a few minutes and went out back. A half an hour later at 3:00 I am still waiting so I go to look for her and she looks at me like what do I want?!?! I say, "I've been waiting 30 minutes and you said my car would be out shortly." She says, "Oh brakes usually take an hour so it should be done soon." She gave the impression earlier all the work under warranty was done and they more

Hendrick Honda provides good service. 9/4/2009

I bought an '08 Honda Accord from Hendrix. This was my first time ever doing business with them. I went in wanting a used car. The dealership was offering big incentives to buy a new car. The used car salesperson was very helpful. However, she didn't want to come down on the price when I finally started looking at new cars. I was ready to walk. I ended up speaking with a finance manager. She sold me the car with no money down and no trade in. I have good credit and stable work history. \r I haven't had any problems with regards to service either. Overall, my experience was positive. I would purchase another car from them via the finance manager. more

Hendrick Honda is in need of some customer service training 8/5/2009

Well, the sales person I worked with was very disappointing. He was servicing more than one customer and kept forgetting things. He didn't relay my situation accurately to the finance manager, who was absolutely great. After about 2 weeks of going back and forth, finding a co-signer, then only using the co-signer for a better rate, etc. etc. etc., I finally gave up on them because I felt the sale person gave up on me. Abby, the finance manager, called me one evening wanting to know what happened. To make a long story, she was not told about my complete financial situation, they had a program specifically for those in my position, and I got a great car with no money down and good monthly rates, WITHOUT A CO-SIGNER. Kudos to Abby Abraham for knowing her job and doing it so well. She was personable and willing to work with you, and we both were EXTREMELY HAPPY. I would recommend her to everyone....the sales staff is a different story.\r \r --Lora more

Hendrix Honda Salesman Laughing at Client 5/18/2009

A couple of weeks ago I made an online offer on a used vehicle at Hendrix Honda in Woodbridge, VA. I waited on an answer from the internet sales person and finally received a call. The firts thing that the salesman told me was, where did you get an idea for the offer that you made us? Basically I was being questioned about the offer that I made. Apparently it was considered a "low ball" offer (for a used vehicle offered at a new vehicle price). The salesman continued to speak about the kelly blue book, black book, etc.... I told the sales person that currently due to market conditions the price of the vehicle is dictated by what the client is willing to pay.... Of course, I was very upset at being questioned by the salesman about my offer....Today I walked into the used car dealership at Hendrix and made an offer on a mini van. I told the salesman how much I was willing to pay for the unit and the salesmen went to speak to his managers. They heard the offer and began to laugh at me beh more

Sold Me a Lemon 4/2/2009

I bought a 1 year old Dodge from Hendrick's used-car sales. It only had 13,000 miles on it and was under the original warranty. They disclosed to me that the vehicle was in one minor collision (via Carfax), but failed to tell me that it had a service history of unresolved problems. I am currently pursuing redress through the Lemon Law. Hendrick has repeatedly told me that this is a Dodge problem and takes no responsibility for the vehicle they sold me. My lawyer assures me that I have a good case and Hendrick is the one responsible. I will never buy from Hendrick again and feel it to be my responsibility to warn others. more

Sales Department 5/18/2008

My family has bought many cars from this car dealership. I decided to follow the family path and find a Honda there. First off my salesperson I had was no help at all. She acted as if she didn't want to be there at all and didn't do anything. Matter of fact she was going to let the sale walk and handed me my keys. I tried to be very interpersonal with her and she just acted as if doing a test drive and giving out papers was all she could do. Her sales manager eventually stepped in and did her job for the whole entire time, who was working to bring my $4500 of negative equity. Let's just say I drove off the lot with my 2008 Accord only to bring it back realizing I got ripped off. I have never seen someone who acted like a butthole like the manager Tom did and told me if I wanted a better deal then don't step foot back in his doors. I told him that was cruel and he stated "Hey, that's just the way it is." I eventually went and got the same car wayyyy cheaper. Hendrick tried to more

Not the Best Experience 4/10/2006

We had to bring our Hybrid here for a recall repair. I thought it would be easy, but even setting up the appointment was a pain. I thought it was difficult to find the repair area and they were not the friendliest. I would not really do much other repair service here unless i needed to. more

Straightforward 3/3/2006

This was one of the first dealerships I got a quote from while shopping for my new Honda Odyssey. I asked for quotes through edmunds and they contacted pretty fast. They had a great offer of at invoice price and not pushy at all. The internet dept is very professional and respond to all your queries super fast. Too bad they did not get my business as I got my van 1000 bucks cheaper elsewhere. more
