Goddard School

I love absolutely everything about The Goddard School. My child learns so much there and all the teachers take such good care of all the kids! more

We like that it's actually a school focused on learning through play, rather than just a typical daycare. Our daughter's continued development has been wonderful to watch and she excelling in large part due to the guidance and care of the phenomenal staff at Goddard at Newtown. Although it is still difficult for both my husband and I to leave her every day, it's that much easier knowing she is being so well taken care of and taught new things each and every day. more

I could not be happier with my family's decision to join The Goddard School in Newtown. I have loved all of the teachers that my daughters have had and they are still a big part of our lives. Not only are the teachers intelligent and well educated, but they are also some of the most giving, loving and compassionate people I have ever met. We are greeted every morning with genuine smiles from both the teachers and administration. My girls are speaking Spanish, doing yoga, making patterns and having a ball while they are learning. I would highly recommend this school to anybody seeking a fun and educational alternative to a local daycare. more

AMAZING PROGRAM!!! Both of my daughters are currently attending The Goddard School and we could not possibly be happier. My older daughter is in Miss Christine's PreK classroom and I am astonished with the progress that has made since the start of the school year. My younger daughter is currently in the Infant classroom learning sign language, doing yoga, playing instruments, painting and having a great time. Above all, I know that when I drop my girls off with the teachers at The Goddard School each morning that they will be happy, safe, cared for and loved. more

We moved into the area and had little time to find a daycare. Newtown Goddard seemed a good option and had decent reviews. My daughter came from a wonderful Little Friends School in Hamilton and she thrived there. Being a shy girl, she opened up and was finally willing to communicate, play and interact. The moment we put her into Goddard school she turned into a stressed out preschooler. We had doubts about the school, but were uncertain. We liked the director but teachers were unfriendly to say the least. They will never greet you or your child when you bring her in. They are just hanging around. They do not have a good grasp on kids, nor they make a connection with them. They are present but minding their own business. They are unable to calm and comfort a child... They do what looks good on paper - letters, numbers, ... But in reality it is done without heart, just on paper. Soon after my kid started crying at nights, you can see she is looking for attention. I think the good reviews come from people who either drop kids of there for couple of hours a day and that wouldn't matter as much, or from those who had never seen what a daycare can be like... more

Have two kids, a niece and a nephew. Very nice facility and faculty. Great deal of emphasis on socialization, core values and learning. My wife and I researched many schools before deciding on Goddard. We have been happy since day number 1 and would guide others to the school more

Research this school very carefully. The co-owner of the school was convicted of arson at the school with very disturbing circumstances, and the owner and management didn't tell parents about this incident for 7 months. Ensure you read coverage of this incident before placing your child in this school's care. Cons: very poor management more

We moved here and had to find a school right away that could help us while we were sorting things out. THe kids really like it and they welcome kids with learning differences. They made all the efforts to accomodate us, and it is safe and clean. They are not huge academic pushers, but they do work on social skills and that was great for our kids. They have :specials"" like computer class and a ""clown"" who comes to the school. THey have theme parties and show and tell days. They are not an ""ACADEMIC"" type of school like the Montessori type. but if you are ooking for a place where kids need to be kids-this is ideal. The camp is fine but our kids played on hard top and got contant scrapes/bruises etc. I would only recomment the school not the camp.
