I have been coming here for nearly 8 years and I cannot explain the stupidity of some people leaving reviews. What are they comparing this place too. I have been to every single gun/range business in the state of Illinois and nothing compares. more

Incredible 8/14/2013

This is the place to go if you're a gun lover. I held my first rifle as a Freshman in High School when I joined the ROTC program at Lane Tech. Being at GAT Guns brings back memories and this time, I can share them with my son. He enjoys the challenge of target shooting and is very careful about handling guns. He participated in the ROTC program as well. When it comes to guns, you have to be extra careful. The personnel at GAT is incredible. They make sure you know what you're doing and, if you start goofing off, they get you off the range before you hurt someone. more

They had more pistols, shotguns, rifles, and ammo in stock and available than I have seen anywhere else in Chicago. I found some cleaning patches I was looking for, and they were priced very competitively. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to pay cash or check for a firearm; only $50 could be put on a credit card. It's 2013! Get serious! I don't even have a checkbook! This limits the sort of firearm purchase I would be comfortable making here; I don't want to carry a few G's in cash on me...I will definitely be back! Thanks G.A.T.! more

Best range/gun shop in Illinois 7/26/2013

Stopped in for the first time today- definitely the best range/gun shop I have been to in Illinois. First I went to the 25yd pistol range, which was busy but clean and well-lit. The lanes were nicely kept up, and they had all sorts of ammo available for the range. Everyone was friendly, even though they do some things I have never encountered (had to give up my FOID to get a target holder; not sure who travels with their own...) but the range fee was reduced with ammo purchase. more

Never regret it. 7/23/2013

I bought my first fire arm here and have been back ever since! Great customer service knowledgeable and always let you take your time while choosing your weapon of choice. The best part is if you buy the lifetime warranty for a hand gun it is only $25. They beat competitors price by $40 with the warranty included! The range is also awesome; I'm looking forward to using the rifle range for the first time. Very decently priced ammo as well! Much recommended! I drive about 38 miles just to get there and never regret it. more
