Great food, Big Elwood is to die for. You can not beat the prices on the food. We go all the time with a group or just the two of us. Always have a good time. Pros: Cheap food

The food is cheap and decent, the shrimp are good, but I have to agree with others that the waitresses remind me of a car salesman hovering over you before your drink is even half...

Terrific! Limited food menu (7 items) but great value and taste! All food items .99 - $2.99. Only 21+ years old are allowed and one must order at the counter. I loved the peel 'n' eat shrimp (.29 each) and the Big Elwood on a stick ($1.99). Hearing the live music on Friday night and washing the food down with a couple of cold ones added to the positive experience. A++ in my book. Pros: Food, Value, Atmosphere more

Fast Eddies a landmark 6/13/2004

I have been away from Alton area for eight years now. I have been in a lot of cities around the country, and I consider Fast Eddie's a landmark. The food is great, and well worth the price. The best things about Fast Eddie's is lunch. The white House in Washington has no buzz to Fast Eddie's. Pros: inexpensive, great food, friendly atmosphere Cons: , crowded, more space more

Never been to Fast Eddie's? GO! If you haven't been in awihle? Go again! How can anyone resist this enchanting (yes, I said it-why else do you keep going?) place. Where else can three peple eat for ten bucks? I strongly recommend the Big Elwood on a Stick-a tasty steak kabob. I think it is impossible not to enjoy yourself at this place. Inexpensive, GREAT tasting food!!! Service is great, pretty quick for lunches, weeknights. If you go there on a Saturday night, yeah, you are going to have to wait, thats common sense. EVERYTHING. I have been a patron of Fast Eddies (and formerly the BonAir) for many years. The best bands, food and drink to be found anywhere! Gotta love a bar that features ""Hot Chick on a Stick"" on it's menu. If you like great food and good time this is the place to go! A very limited menu but everything is great from the cold boiled shrimp to the huge hamburger. If you can't afford to eat here, then you can't afford to eat out anywhere and this sure beats the fast food chains. It can get quite crowded and there may be a wait, but if you just want to eat and leave then the key is get there early. Kids aren't allowed either, so don't even think about taking them. If having fun is on your agenda, then go and plan to stay as Fast Eddie's has live music, check for times and bands. Remember, this place is busy, so have patience with your servers and enjoy the food and fun! Pros: inexpensive Cons: poor parking, crowded, needs bigger location more

While visiting friends in St. Louis we were taken over the river to check out Fast Eddie's by our friend's that grew up in Alton. It was great!! My husband and I were in awe at the prices and the quality of food. The atmosphere was rockin that night and there wasn't a seat open in the house. Nothing fancy for the interior but people watching was plenty! If there was you had to act fast to grab it. We give this place 2 thumbs up!
