Ignore the weird fact they also have Asian food. 2/23/2010

The fact that a place called Falafel King also serves sushi is totally weird. And it's jarring enough to make you question whether or not the falafel is actually any good to begin with. (Which it is.) Want to know what's even weirder? The sushi isn't all that bad! So while the combination of sushi and falafel (yes, I tried both in one setting) is a little bit offputting, the falafel was awesome. Hot, crunchy and hand-rolled, it reminded me of the falafel I had in NY a few months prior. The accompaniment--grape leaves, hummus--were both decent and the pita was fluffy and super hot, like it had just come out of the fryer. Or however they cook those things. The other think I like about the King, is that it feels like you're in a college town. It's a tiny place that serves good but cheap fare to a crowd that's young and typically decked in sweats or other collegiate lounge gear. What's not to love? more

BEST FALAFEL EVER. THE SERVICE IS EVEN BETTER!!! 11/17/2008

This place is AMAZING. Yes I too was skeptical of the small hut looking building with falafel and sushi signs. But I am a falafel/shweerma feign. I have experienced some of the best Shweerma, falafel and gibna in Cairo and this is truly the best in the States (that i know of yet). Yes, even better than Mediterranean Grill. The two managers are so incrediblely generous. They are willing to make your order just the way you like. You can also call your order in. It is so popular that around the 12pm and 6pm hour the line is out the door. It is inexpensive, good for a student budget. The space inside is very tight, perhaps with all the business that have, they'll be looking to expand soon?! \r \r They also have curry chicken which is really good. I come from good home cooked Middle Eastern and Caribbean meals. So give it a try. You'll love it!!! I'm addicted. Pros: Food Service and Price Cons: Size of restaurant, weight time at lunch and dinner hours more

Great little restaurant 10/18/2006

Kind of invisible in emory village but they have great falafels, shawarmas, and recently added, sushi. the owner is a sushi chef by trade and he prepares great rolls that are always fresh and well-made. best of all it is so cheap that you can get TWO rolls for the price you'd pay for one at a sushi restaurant, with absolutely no loss of quality. try the eel roll! try the curry too. Pros: CHEAP, great sushi, falafel more

Best falafel in Atlanta! 9/30/2006

This place is such a great find! Their falafel is the best I've had in atlanta, and the prices are great! The shawarma is awesome too. They have recently remodeled and added a sushi bar. It is a popular place for Emory students to grab a sandwich, but the service is usually fast and always friendly. If you are looking for some tasty middle eastern food, you need to check this place out! more
