Events and Adventures Philadelphia

I am not a member so this probably isn't all that helpful. I will say, though, from my interactions at the interviews, everyone was professional and courteous, and I never felt like I was being misled. (Although the interviewer said the ratio was 30% guys to 70% girls). The woman showed me the sheet with the cost of the membership options, and of the few events she showed me on her computer, the prices were all visible, and, membership dues aside, it all seemed pretty reasonable. And when I explained that the membership price was completely out of my price range, she was very understanding and courteous about it, didn't pressure me any further, and shook my hand when I left.\r \r My personal hunch is that Events and Adventures is a ton of fun, but also a ton of money, kind of like a junior version of a country club (entry interviews and screening, membership fees, private networks; there really are a lot of similarities). For a lot of people, including me, its not worth the money. But for some people it is, so lets not trash something that we haven't actually tried. more

I find it funny how all these people complaining about the pushy sales rep and the price... While I don't disagree with the price being a touch to high. It is a busniess, like everyone else they are in it to make money. They work on comission with like everyone else wouldn't you want to get as many people as possible to sign up? I have had nothing but a great time in E&A. Got to meet some pretty cool people, and do some pretty cool things. Living about an hour from Philly I do have to drive for some of the events, but I know that coming into it, and I do not mind. They take many sugestions of different ideas for events or locations. I have had a great time and wouldn't change anything. more

I was thinking about joining Events & Adventures aka Events, Adventures N' More. But after dealing with the pushy reps on the phone (one even called me and made it so the number wouldn't display, but still left a message which is shady and unprofessional) and reading articles online (including BBB which rated them a C-), I am glad I didn't join. If the sales reps have to go through all of that to sell the service, then what they are selling must not be really that great. It is just bad business. Expensive: One of the articles mentioned that it is $1,500 to $2,000 to join and $30 a month. Then, you must pay to attend each event. That can't possibly be worth it. more

I heard all kinds of ads for this group on the radio, and was pretty intrigued. I like to go out and do things, but with all of my friends busy with their own lives, it's hard to get everyone together. I emailed and requested information, and like others have mentioned, couldn't get the ""full"" story -i.e actual cost of membership, membership demographics - until I went in person to meet with them. I do not live in an area convenient to their ""Philadelphia"" office - KOP is over an hour away, so that was a hassle to begin with. I guess they feel if someone is desperate enough they'll go. more

Very unimpressed with the experience of ""Events and Adventures."" Though the concept appears sound, their expectations are unreasonable. The secrecy and misleading information you are given before they actually draw you into the ""lair"" made me feel like I was dealing with a bad car dealership or was about to be hard sold on a time share. If the membership price was reasonable or had any flexibility I would have joined in a second, but unless you are willing to make this the end all be all of your social life, save yourself the trip to King of Prussia (real convenient). more

I have had a great time with Events & Adventures! I've met a lot of people I wouldn't have met otherwise, made a lot of great, new friends, and experienced things I would not have done otherwise. From cooking classes, to baseball games to rock climbing and other fantastic events ? I've had the time of my life. I can say that I'm truly a happier person since I've joined Events and Adventures! more

Let?s face it, dating is sometimes anything but the great times and great conversations over perfectly cooked meals, right? Your dating goals may be different than the person you?re going out with and too many times, the two of you are on different pages. At least, that?s what?s happened to me over the years. Events & Adventures changed all of that for me. I?ve gone on trips, learned new hobbies (like wine tasting) and have learned even more about myself. I can?t believe how little I knew about my own interests. I?ve met a great girl ? seriously, she is everything I?ve ever wanted. She has become a part of my family and I recently met hers. It?s like I?ve known her forever. The staff members with Events & Adventures worked to facilitate all of the good times ? whether it was a cruise, a wine tasting event or karaoke, all the members have to do is show up and plan to have a good time with fun folks. It is SO much better than the usual internet dating. There are no false promises, there are no cancelled events and all that?s required of you is to be yourself. Sara come across as who she exactly is because we?d already spent some time together with the Events & Adventures group. She learned a lot about me and we were able to get our relationship off on the right path from the very beginning. I don?t think I?ve ever had that before ? and the crazy thing is I never even knew it until I had it. Events & Adventures should be in every city in every state. I feel that strongly about the company. more

You go to the events you meet people and have fun. What were you guys so confused about?? I agree the sales pitch was pushy but that didn't have any effect on my decision to join. Aren't you all adults? Maybe it's because I'm a guy but I read contracts before I sign them. Pros: tons of events Cons: sorta pushy sales people more

I had been hearing tons of ads for this company and decided to check it out. I was mostly wondering how much this would cost but they refused to tell me without an interview. I was worried about going alone for fear they would sucker me into something. At some point I got 2 friends who wanted to go with me & I tried to set up an appt for an interview so all 3 of us could travel together. The E&A woman told me she couldn't accommodate 3 people the same day. All 3 of us are successful, attractive women & it sounds like we would have been an asset to the group. However, the woman was standoffish & she sounded worried that 3 of us together would dissuade each other from joining. Having a one on one with potential customers with no support system around is probably their ticket to getting people to join. more
