Enterprise Rent-A-Car

I have lived in downtown Seattle for 7 years, do not own a car, rent when I need to and can say with authority that you should rent here at your own risk: from playing games with rental prices, to hard selling you on insurance to booking cars and then having none available for hours this is a terrible place to rent. There are about 8 or 9 better alternatives for renting cars in downtown Seattle, starting with Dollar (for the best rates in town, great customer service and only about 5 blocks walk from these guys) to Budget, to National, Alamo, Avis and Hertz. We book the reservation knowing that Enterprise is a fine company nationally known. First thing first, the actual car place is off site. So, if you're in a hurry make sure to add time in for the extra shuttle to get to where the cars are. \r After getting bussed 5 minutes to the location where the cars are located the guy berates me about the fuel option and the insurance. I'm in sales and I know they make money on the fuel and insurance, but after the 4th "no" on the fuel and the 5th "no" on the insurance it was a bit ridiculous. It was to the point that he wouldn't take no for an answer and I had to raise my voice to him.\r Finally we are on our way in a car that has HAND CRANK WINDOWS... oh well. We walk around the car and he tells me to look for golf ball size dents. There were none and so we were on our way. \r We get back to drop off the car after a long weekend, they point out a dent. I told her the guy told me not to worry about it because it was smaller than a golf ball. more

The lot that they have for you to drop the rental car in after hours is very tiny and right on the main street in Seattle. We called and asked them if it was safe to leave the car there after hours and they insisted it was so we dropped the car off in perfect condition and got a call the next day saying that there was a dent (which was not there when we dropped it off) and they were charging us an additional $175 dollars for it.\r \r Anyone can stumble by and dent the car or someone can try to return their rental car and bump yours in the process since there are only a handfull or poorly placed spots in the lot. more
