I would never buy a car at this dealership. The car had a few issues and I call Nissan Corporate to get them worked out after the mechanics messed up a component to the car. The dealership lied about refinancing the car, because I called Nissan Corporate. They have low quality service because they are privately owned\r \r I called Nissan Corporate and they said they couldn't do a thing because it was privately owned. Call Nissan Corporate and ask them the consequences from buying from a private dealership instead of a certified Nissan Dealership. Please call them before any purchase at any dealership and ensure it is operated and certified by Nissan.\r \r I wasted a lot of money and time at this establishment. I owned a variety of Makes on vehicles, but this by far was the worse experience. Please do not make the same mistake that I did and be wise, go to a big dealership that is Nissan owned (Not privately owned). \r \r I mean do NOT EVER buy a car from a private dealership if you are buying brand new.\r \r The sales at this dealership will tell you anything to cover this up and pretend this is not true.\r \r I am trading a car in that has 3200 miles on it and 3 months old because of this experience. \r \r I purchased from this place and regret it tremendously just don't make the same mistake. more

Empire Lakewood Nissan has restored my faith in the auto dealer/service industry! I purchased my first new vehicle from them back in 1992. I lived in Steamboat at the time, so it wasn't feasible to use them for service, but the buying experience was stellar. So much so that we bought a used car for my son years later from them. Then we bought our Murano from them in 2006, and since we live down here now, we have serviced it there ever since. One time we made the mistake of having our brakes serviced from a discount break company that was closer to our home, and a little less expensive....bad move. It ended up costing way more in the long run. The real reason I am writing this review is because of the most recent experience I had with Empire Lakewood Nissan. My 2006 Murano had it's engine go out at 119,000 miles. It was no longer under warranty, and it was going to cost approx $10K for a new engine! Since we still owe a hefty amount on it, I was actually considering repossession. However, my heroes at Empire stepped up and found me a used engine, discounted the labor, and even discovered a part that had an extended warranty that needed replacing so that I now qualified for a rental car. In today's world, it is rare to find such over-the-top customer service. I've received it from Empire Lakewood Nissan on several occasions now, so it's not a fluke. It starts from the top and filters down to everyone there. I will be a customer for life. more

Great new car buying experience 4/4/2011

Recently bought a new Titan from Empire. I'm 50-something and have been through the car buying thing numerous times. The process at Empire was very easy and smooth. They had to show me a variety of vehicles and numerous financing and leasing options before I could determine the best value. They were patient and helpful through the process. I was also impressed with how easy and fast the financing process was. The sales rep followed up to make sure I was happy. Recommend. more

Bought a vehicle from here 18 months ago, and will never forget how bad the experience was. Within 3 days I was calling to complain that the car was not starting right. They said it was fine all the way until my warranty expired after a week, then told me it was in need of a new fuel pump. Since then we discovered that they didn't even bother to put oil in the vehicle when they sold it, the care has need various repairs (tows, pumps, hoses, etc.) they sold us the car and said it was in excellent condition and every part of it worked wonderfully. Since taking the care home I have regreted that decision! If I could have returned the car a month after purchasing it I would have. Now I am stuck trying to sell this car that barely even runs. Thanks Empire- your sleazy sales people ripped me off and sold me a lemon. more

DO NOT GO THERE 5/29/2009

Bought car in Jan. Problems w/ car as soon as I drove it off the lot. Less than 6 months later took it in for an oil change. Charged me $500.00 to make repairs. Have had 12 things go wrong in less than 6 months. Rude, rude sales manager. He just yelled at me over the phone. Terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!!! more

Good Prices but No loyalty and Bad Customer Service 2/25/2009

The financial guy was very rude to us when we turned down the extended warranty and tried to mess with our interest and tax rates. When we went back (because of the good prices) we had a very good experience. Since then, we've bought a couple of cars without incident. Recently, we called our sales guy to see about getting a loaner for warranty work and they said they didn't offer loaners anymore. Well, given that we bought 5 cars from them, the least they could do is give us a loaner for recall service (the service center is only open m-f). We have been faithful to them, you would think they would help us out but no loyalty there. We won't go back next time, good price or not. more

Lying salesman, bad attitude!!! 11/25/2008

Went to go check out a Nissan Altima. BADLY rusted brakes (incl. calipers!) eng. mounts, etc. Salesman said ""it was probably just a car from the coast""... Yeah right! Doors were missing screws telling me this car had been fixed in some ways. Found out from AAA that they had replaced the windshield on this car. Salesman said ""there are no problems, and this car is clean"". Lying bastards, and didn't even try to deal on the price of the vehicle. Shady business practices, bad attitudes, and I'm glad I didn't buy from them. Pros: Cheap prices Cons: Cars are in terrible shape. more

Great place to buy a new car 7/12/2008

I enjoyed my entire experience at Empire Nissan. I recently purchased a new 2008 Xterra from the dealership and the salesmen made it painless. I had researched the vehicle for extensivly for a month or so and found what i was looking for. I had found the lowest price for the vehicle at Carsdirect and when i went to the dealership, not only did they drop a few thousand off the carsdirect price they gave me the extended 6 year warranty for free. the staff did not rush me into anything and both the salesman and the finance officer took their time to answer any questions that i had. This as a good dealership and I had a great buying experience there. I would recomend Empire to anyone that i know! more

Don't Trust Them 3/2/2008

We bought a used car from them and were thrilled! On the way out of the deal lot we noticed that the inside plastic of the speedometer had a fluid spill/stain on it (inaccessable to simply clean off). We drove back to the salesman before leaving the lot , pointed it out to him (who checked with his boss) and told us no worries, it was under warranty and the service department would fix it. Not so, when we brought it back for it's first service (a month later) the service department said it was not a warranty item. I referenced the saleman's conversation on the day we bought the car but when he was asked, the salesman had no recollection of such a conversation or commitment to us. Bottom line: After getting angry/persistent with them, they finally agreed to split the cost with us but said no, we'd live with it as our share would have been $800 because the entire panel would have to be replaced. Pros: Easy to deal with Cons: Can't trust what they tell you more

Sleazy sales and unsafe vehicle! DISAPOINTMENT! 2/14/2007

We went in to buy a used truck and we found a solid little one, but after having it a day the battery died. We just thought it needed a new battery, but found out later that the car had been in accident (after they told us it hadn't) and that the battery was missing the clip that held the battery in place. The truck shouldn't have even been out for a test drive. If we would have gone over one big bump, the battery would have fallen out. We're planning to take it to our family mechanic to make sure the engine is in good shape. Empire said they looked it over and gave it a clean bill of health, but it's quite obvious they didn't do their job... a reputable mechanic would have never let the truck leave the lot without the battery clip. It's not only dangerous to the driver, but other motorists as well. We weren't impressed with the sleazy sales tactics or the shape of the vehicle. EMPIRE IS A BIG DISAPOINTMENT! Cons: sleazy sales, lied, rushed the sale, unsafe vehicle. more
