Service Dept Clueless 8/9/2012

Long story short. They put the wrong oil filter on my vehicle the day before my vacation. Oil leaked out onto the Kennedy Expressway. The towing company they use didn't want to deal with traffic. I walk-train-cab'd home. They got it to me next day after lunch. Vacation travel plans delayed about 1/2 day. Emailed Service Mgr, no response. I'd stay away from their service dept. By the way, the oil change that they did wrong took 1.5 hours and some grease ball got my interior dirty. I also asked them to look at a leak I had in one of the tires, couldn't find it. By some miracle I guess, they were able to find it the next day. Guessing the initial person had no clue??? more

Very Unknowledgable Service Staff 3/12/2012

This, was the worst experience at a dealership, I ever had.The service department, are not CERTIFIED to the level of excellence, they should provide.I thought after dealing with some jerk, named Terry Burnett, and Dan wickstrom himself, which is a foul mouthed, vodka smelling lowlife, some years ago, it would change. It just got worse, dropped off my car for service, picked it up,and all my money that was in my glove box was gone.It was change, but I had around 10 bucks, and my I Pass was gone, and 2 cd's,and the picture of my 18 year old daughter.A big, cigarette burn on my seat, sealed the deal to bitch up a storm. All I got was sorry! Told them to refund my money, and find the pervert, who took my daughters picture, and my I Pass.Never found, got a full refund.Never ever, deal with ANY Wickstrom dealership, your just giving money, to people, who are screwing you again. more

Hands down the easiest car purchase I have ever made 9/12/2011

Hands down the easiest car purchase I have ever made. I worked with Jared Wickstrom directly. I had already planned to purchase a 2012 Equinox and was working with several dealers when Michael Seydlitz responded to my internet request. Jared and Michael without any hesitation beat my best price by about $400. In addition, when the original dealer I was working with delayed making the dealer trade for the car I wanted (I believe in an attempt to sell me something off their own lot instead), Jared made the trade no questions asked before he even valued my trade-in or met me in person. Don't get me wrong, we still went through price negotiation and trade-in value negotiation (which should be expected), but at no time did I feel pressured or stressed... we also agreed on trade-in value very quickly ($1500 more then CarMax offered me) and he beat my best price before I ever walked on his lot. The prior year my wife bought a new Mitsubishi Outlander and at the time named all car salesmen ""Scum Bags"". Wickstrom definitely changed her opinion as we had an extremely good experience working with them. If possible, I will buy from them again. more

I was mildly interested in purchasing a new vehicle and contacted a few dealers to see what was out there. One dealer's salesman looked in to a couple of trucks and sensed that I might not be ready and didn't want to look any more. Another dealer's salesman said he'd see what was out there and get back to me in a couple days, and never did. I then called Wickstrom and Jared found the hard-to-find vehicle I was looking for to get me off the fence and I bought it. The personal touch I got from him and Dave Nowicki made Wickstrom feel like a dealership that I could trust and want to do business with. I've since referred my daughter and she's been getting her warranty work and oil changes there since she works very close. She has also had a few co-workers go there for oil changes. The most important aspect in a good relationship with a dealer is trust, and I believe I may have found that. more

Great dealership! 8/17/2010

I brought my Chevy Suburban to Wickstrom Chevrolet for service recently and was very happy with the outcome. I felt that the service department was fair and honest in performing only the necessary maintenance and repair issues and did so in a timely manner and with a professional demeanor. I also requested that my car be detailed while it was there and what a BEAUTIFUL job they did!! The car looked and felt just like it did the first day I bought it! I will absolutely return to Wickstrom Chevy in the future for both my service and sales needs. more

I just purchased my 3rd car from Wickstrom. GREAT DEALER. The first was when I was in college, it was an older car with lots of miles. It ran great and lasted me for several years. I?ve bought two new cars since then and each experience is better than the last. Very professional, low pressure environment. I highly recommend buying a new or used car from them. more

Ripoff.. 6/12/2010

This dealer is terrible. I brought my vehicle in to have it serviced (car running very rough). I was told by the service dept, the cause was due to a fuel delivery problem, and that the problem was fixed. While driving home from dealer, the problem continued. I called wickstrom service dept and informed them of this. I was told to bring it back the next day.\r The very rude service rep called to inform me the problem now is a "ignition problem". After spending several hundred dollars, my car still was not fixed and I was informed that it would be several more hundred dollars to fix the ignition issue. \r Stay away from this dealer! more

Service Department DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK 9/12/2009

I have a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer that I brought to Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet (DWC) in April 2009 for service. I had just purchased the vehicle with 84,000 miles so it needed rear brakes. The service department fixed the rear brakes--rotors, pads, calipers, emergency brake--for the pricey tune of $980.00. (I have since learned that I could have had the work done for 1/3rd the price--and a better job.) I have not had anyone else perform service on the rear brakes of this Blazer since DWC did the rear brakes. On September 10, 2009 I noticed a grinding sound in the right rear wheel area. I called the DWC service department and they told me to bring the vehicle in that afternoon, which I did. They took a look at the problem and immediately started to avoid taking the blame for the problem?their mechanic did not tighten the bolts that hold the caliper on so it came loose, bound up and grinded and caused a multitude of other problems as a result. DWC would not pay for their problem?A more

SERVICE DEPARTMENT WILL NOT STAND BEHIND REPAIRS 9/12/2009

Incredible Service Department 3/7/2008

I joined insiderpages.com just to review this dealership. I have an 11-year-old Chevy Astro with 180k on it. Ever since we moved back into the Schaumburg area (last year), I have been taking the van here for service.\r \r The staff in the service department are friendly, helpful, and want to ensure that the vehicle is fixed properly. They are willing to thoroughly explain repairs. On my last visit, I was even able to speak with the mechanic who tended to my vehicle! In large dealerships it seems that management wants to hide their mechanics behind service writers...\r \r The dealership is small, and family-owned, which is to its advantage. You don't feel like you're getting chewed up and spit out as is sometimes the case with bigger dealerships in the area. As long as I continue to own this vehicle I will go there for service. more

CHEVY 12/21/2005

A few years back when looking for a Blazer, I stopped by Dick Wickstroms Chevrolet. It's a small dealership very close to the Roselle train station. They were very friendly and with a family like atmosphere. I told them I was looking for a particular Blazer and they let me test drive one. They had the best price from the other dealers and were honest (in my opinion). The salesman was a straight shooter and didn't mess around. more

Very Good Dealer 7/16/2005

I bought a Corsica from here many years ago. They were very friendly to deal with, gave me a nice discount, and helped with the financing. The only problem I had was with the service center. They took longer than promised to fix my car, which inconvenienced me greatly -- especially because it was winter and I had no other way of getting around. more
