horrible ;landscaper outlandish prices.. and now he has an outlet under the name Maggden in ridgewood nj.. be careful of this garden center he inflates his prices and advertises for the outlet for landscapers.. use common sense in using denny wiggers gardens more

poor topsoil 4/1/2012

We had organic topsoil delivered this week, and every shovel full has 1"" sized pebbles/rocks in it. It is as if the soil was never screened. Truly poor quality for the price, and not what we expected for our lawn project. Update 4/2/12: We heard back today and Denny made a solid attempt to remedy our issues. That is appreciated. more

Firewood in Bergen County 1/5/2012

I don't normally write reviews but I had to tell you what a great experience I had with Denny and his staff on Paramus Rd Paramus. In Oct when we had that freak snowstorm, my customers were out of power and needed firewood. In my line of business i buy topsoil and mulch from Denny,but I knew he also sold firewood. I was able to pickup the firewood , but he also delivered firewood in a days notice. thankfully they were kept warm using their fireplace. I looked like a hero but it was really Denny and Maritza. BEST SCENTED FIREWOOD Dennywiggersgardenscapes in Paramus 9/8/2011

We just purchased firewood for our outdoor pit and also our fireplace.... The wood from Dennywiggersgardenscapes is so sweet smelling and burns beautiful..... The rainy week we are having the house at nite get chilly so we looked for a great wood supplier and we are thrilled we found this garden center only a few miles from our home... The staff is lovely and Denny himself guaranteed we would be very pleased with his seasoned wood.. and we are..... next time we will have a cord delivered and stacked. I have read these reviews and they seem to be written by a not nice person...regardless, I have been buying from this business Denny Wiggers garden center for 9 years. just wanted to say they are nice and the firewood is excellent...Wood is dry and burns great stocked up this week for my grandsons bbq...Mrs ML more

Denny Wiggers does complete Trash Work 7/16/2010

Trash work and takes no responsibility. Ripped out all our landscaping last November, it is almost August and he is nowhere to be found to do the planting. Tore out 20 feet of hedge he was supposed to leave and two forty-year-old rodis and said he would ?do something to fix it?. NOTHING. Put in bluestone steps and walkway that has settled and is uneven the steps are completely different depths and heights?close to hazardous. Said he would come back to fix them. NOTHING. If you?re thinking about spending money with Denny Wiggers, burn it instead. It will be less aggravating. more

Firewood from Crook Denny Wiggers 1/20/2010

I too ordered firewood last week and it refuses to maintain a decent fire. It smolders and smokes. Only way to keep the fire going is to keep the door open for increased air to compensate. I purchased a bundle of seasoned mixed wood at my local Shop Rite and got just the opposite results. The fire rages with the supermarket bought wood. Now I know it's the wood. Denny's wood is so heavy. The drier wood from the supermarket is much lighter, , not doubt because it's properly seasoned. Denny says he has not received complaints from other customers about his wood, but I know now this can't be the case. Please, if anyone else is experiencing similar problems please post your feedback here. more

Avoid at all costs - Denny Wiggers Firewood 1/18/2010

This guy is a cartoon. People like him are what has made the state of New Jersey synonymous with shysters and riff raff. I was ripped off by him twice. About a month after having been delivered some rather expensive firewood, he called to see if I wanted to order more. When I told him my previous order was green and less than a cord he said he would ""make it right"". He did so by saying he would only charge me for half a cord on the next cord... fair enough. I decide to give him a second chance. This time he delivers me less then a HALF a cord, again, green wet wood pawned off as aged firewood. The nerve to deliver me less then half a cord when my major complaint the previous order was that he had shorted me the last time, like I am so stupid I don't know how to measure 4 x 4 x 8? It's like this clown gets his jollys ripping people off. Also, I seriously doubt any favorable reviews posted of this charlatan are real, but more likely just shills posted by Wiggers himself. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. more

Worst Christmas Lighting Ever 1/1/2010

I saw in my local paper regarding Denny Wiggers and how he was an expert with Christmas Lighting. I now wonder who he paid off for the paper to publish that he's an expert and seeing the other negative reviews I guess I wasn't alone. I called Denny Wiggers, two guys showed up with poor speaking communication and without knowing what they were doing attempted to decorate several of my trees. A complete mess, worst Christmas lighting ever. more

Talk of the Town! 1/1/2010

I first heard about Denny Wiggers when I saw the impressive 911 memorial that he donated in the town of Demarest. We were planning our backyard and decided to interview several landscapers, Denny being one of them. Our main concerns were the stonework around the pool, landscaping and dining area. He listened with great care about what WE wanted. He walk us through the steps of what he could do for us, but he also explained the different types of stones, plants and bushes that would showcase our yard. Impressed, we hired Denny Wiggers immediately.Within two weeks our yard was turned into a sanctuary. Pros: Christmas Lights and Decorating more

Denny Wiggers Landscaping Nightmare 12/30/2009

My review about Denny Wiggers Landscaping and the nightmarish events. I had read where Denny Wiggers Landscaping provided Christmas decorating services in Bergen County, NJ. I phoned the company and the owner (Denny Wiggers) visited my house the next day. Denny provided a quote and told me how he could make a wonderful Christmas lighting and decorating design with my outside. Once I agreed (December 2, provided full payment) than Denny said the decorating would begin right away. A week goes by and no phone calls, no visits to decorate. I call Denny Wiggers Landscaping and talked to someone that tells me that Denny will be calling soon. Another week goes by and same result, then final few days before Christmas and a couple of people arrive and put up some lights on the trees and that's it. Half the lights didn't work, called and they said again, Denny will be calling you. This has been a complete NIGHTMARE. Denny Wiggers is a slick snake-oil salesman and that?s it. Don't use him. more
